Obama Sends Race-Baiting Bigot To Stump For Him In Georgia

The same racist he picked to offer the opening prayer at his inauguration in 2009 Rev. Joseph Lowery.

Lowery said Obama lost Georgia by 200,000 votes in 2008 while 390,000 black folks in Georgia did not vote.

"I don't know what kind of a n----- wouldn't vote with a black man running," said Lowery. "All that he did with the stimulus was genius. Nobody intelligent would risk this country with Romney."

* * *

Lowery said that when he was a young militant, he used to say all white folks were going to hell. Then he mellowed and just said most of them were. Now, he said, he is back to where he was.

"I'm frightened by the level of hatred and bitterness coming out in this election," said Lowery.

I mean WOW!

Any black who doesn't vote for Obama is a n*gger? Whites are all going to Hell? And then, having spewed such racism, he has the audacity to say he is afraid of the hatred and bitterness coming out of this election? Really? I'd say Rev. Lowery has cornered the market on hatred, bitterness and racism with his remarks.

Could you imagine the furor if a prominent Romney supporter claimed that all blacks were going to Hell? That insulted in racist terms any white person not voting for Romney? The media would be all over such comments, and the resulting backlash would cost Romney the election and the GOP both houses of Congress and a number of governorships.

So why isn't the press reporting this story prominently?

Because if they did, there would be a national furor. The backlash would be sufficient to bury Obama on election day. It will likely tip House and Senate seats to the GOP. Republicans would elect several governors where they had previously been deemed not to have a chance.

So, my friends, write about this story. Send links to your friends documenting this racism. Tweet it. Facebook it. Make sure that everyone you know is aware of it -- and that they get out to vote. For the sake of race relations in this country, Obama and his hatemongering racebaiting allies must be driven from public life and back under the rocks from beneath which they slithered. America is better than they are.

A Note On The Romney Relief Event And MSNBC's Criticism Of It

Ive not written about Hurricane Sandy and its aftermath on this blog. Having survived Hurricane Ike four years ago, the emotions I feel watching the video and reading the news are simply too strong to allow me to do a good job. I feel for those displaced, for those without power, for those whose homes are gone and whose possessions are destroyed. I was one of them not too long ago, and I know what they face as they work to rebuild their lives. I weep for them as I pray for them.

But this story angers me, and so I want to comment on it.

This one is really hard to believe, even for the most biased so-called "news network" in the nation.

MSNBC on Tuesday totally trashed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney for collecting food and supplies at a storm relief rally in Ohio to be sent to victims of Hurricane Sandy

I wont bother quoting the hosts and guests at MSNBC, the actual faux news organization that spews propaganda and hate. I have standards at this blog, and the words that were broadcast fall below them. Their complaint was that the Red Cross wanted nothing but money, and that the donations of canned food, clothing, blankets, toiletries, etc. were nothing but a publicity stunt despite the fact that the events also had messages on screen telling attendees how to make donations to the Red Cross.

But assume that the Red Cross didnt want the physical items because of logistical concerns (which I concede could be a legitimate issue), there are a dozen organizations I could list that will gladly accept them. And as one who lost most everything in a hurricane, I will tell you that I would have been thrilled to get those canned goods, blankets, etc. during the time I was sleeping in the back room of a church at night while I spent my days dragging what had been my possessions out of my waterlogged house so they could be documented by the insurance company and hauled away by the garbage crew.

So speaking as a survivor, I have a message to the left-wing 1%-ers at MSNBC why don't you MSTFU!

Is The MSM Coming Around On Benghazi?

Well, it might be if David Ignatius of the Washington Post is any indication.

The attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi has become a political football in the presidential campaign, with all the grandstanding and misinformation that entails. But Fox News has raised some questions about the attack that deserve a clearer answer from the Obama administration.

* * *

Looking back, it may indeed have been wise not to bomb targets in Libya that night. Given the uproar in the Arab world, this might have been the equivalent of pouring gasoline on a burning fire. But the anguish of Woodss father is understandable: His sons life might have been saved by a more aggressive response. The Obama administration needs to level with the country about why it made its decisions.

And therein lies the crux of the whole matter. The Regime hasnt been forthright with us about what happened in Benghazi that night. It tried to blame the whole matter on a video no one saw and has fought tooth and nail to not answer these questions. Had Obama and his underlings simply leveled with us, most Americans would have likely agreed that the choices made were reasonable, even if they were wrong. But all the bobbing-and-weaving and shucking-and-jiving gives this the air of a cover-up and has made Benghazi and its aftermath simply one more argument for being rid of Obama come Tuesday.

DNC Chair Wasserman-Schultz Thinks Shes Special

And rules like staying out of the street when you campaign and following the legitimate directives of the police? They just dont apply to her.

A group of sign-waving campaign ralliers comprised of both Democrat and Republican supporters outside an Aventura, Florida polling location witnessed Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz get involved in a heated altercation with an Aventura policeman after she apparently took issue with his request to not engage in campaign activities in the street which would hold up oncoming traffic.

She listened to the police officers respectful and reasonable request, but Wasserman Schultz continued to argue with the police officer, according to several people who witnessed the incident.

Wasserman Schultz was greeting voters and waiving her campaign signs on a street that leading into the polling site and was obstructing traffic by stopping cars before they could even enter the parking area.

The police officer respectfully asked Wasserman Schultz to move onto the sidewalk as everyone else was required to do, but the Congresswoman was unhappy with not being able to campaign how she saw it fit. Unnerved by the simple request from a police officer, Wasserman Schultz made a well placed phone call to some unknown individual in a position of authority. Five minutes later, the Aventura City Mayor came to the scene and was confronted by Debbie Wasserman Schultz and proceeded to get an earful from her as well.

Just one more example of the Obamunist attitude from the woman Obama picked to run his party. Speaks volumes, doesnt it?

Why Did Facebook Censor The SEALS?

An organization of former Navy SEALS posted this on Facebook.

It got pulled and their account was shut down for 24 hours for an alleged violation of Facebook rules. The thing is, I fail to see how this crosses any line in the social networking sites Statement of Rights and Responsibilities.

So why was the graphic pulled down twice by Facebook? What aspect of their policies did it violate? Was it simply to boost Obama? I sure hope that Facebook makes a public response to this growing controversy.

UPDATE: Facebook claims it was an error -- but the more I read in this WaPo article, the less it seem sot have been one.

Tibetan Singing Bowls

One of the joys about teaching social studies is learning about other cultures and sharing that knowledge with young people. I love that part of my job, and find it as rewarding as my paycheck. But the reality is that many of my students have never seen artifacts from other parts of the world, or had the chance to hold in their hands items that are as commonplace to those of other cultures as a cellular phone is to them This is especially true when i teach my students about religion -- often they have no real knowledge beyond that with which they were raised, and often very little about their own. That's why I'd love to be able to collect cultural artifacts to share in my classroom, such as Tibetan Singing Bowls. Click Here Tibetan Singing Bowls

Silver Sky Imports has many fine products from Tibet and Nepal, including these beautiful standing bells used as a part of Buddhist ritual. They have many other interesting Buddhist religious items, such as prayer flags and statues, as well as incense and spa salts from Tibet. Their products are beautiful. And if you want to help a teacher outfit his classroom for his unit on world religion, know that I'd love this Singing Bowl gift set.

Many Facets To Sheriffs Race Donation Story

On its face, it looks bad a strip club owner donates money to a political action committee, which in turn made a donation for the same amount to the candidate challenging the sitting sheriff. But there are some aspects to this story raise other issues as well including issues with the news organization doing the reporting.

A $25,000 political contribution from the owner of a strip club being sued by Harris County lawyers found its way, via the Harris County Deputies Organization, into the campaign coffers of the man challenging Sheriff Adrian Garcia in November, according to campaign finance reports.

Ali Davari, who with his brother Hassan Davari owns a handful of prominent local strip clubs, including Treasures, Gold Cup and Trophy Club, gave $25,000 to the deputies union political action committee on Oct. 15. It was the only contribution the organization received during the time period covered by the report, which was filed Thursday. The union donated the same amount, in its only listed expenditure, to Republican Louis Guthrie's campaign a week later, earmarking it for political advertising.

Guthrie reports receiving a $25,000 check from the union on Oct. 9; Guthrie's campaign manager Sara Kinney said the campaign listed that date because that was the date on the check. HCDO Vice President Eric Batton could not explain the discrepancy in the dates.

Now let me begin with a couple of disclaimers.

Having gotten those out of the way, lets look at what I see as the key issues here.

1) Political donations by adult business owners. It is easy to get all moralistic and say that no candidate should take donations from such business owners. But Guthrie did not take a donation from Ali Davari the Harris County Deputies Organization PAC did. Whats more, Davari indicates he expected that his donation would be used for GOTV activities rather than a direct campaign donation to any particular candidate.

2) There is no evidence Guthrie knew where the HCDO PACs money came from. The article certainly does not provide any proof in that regard. To that end, the receipt of the donation shows nothing at all about Guthrie vis--vis the adult business sector in the county.

3) Deputies support Guthrie, not the current sheriff. After all, HCDO is the larges organization of deputies working for Garcias office, and they want Garcia gone. They have ever since Garcia hired political cronies for desk jobs during a hiring freeze that left the ranks of deputies and jailers at less than full strength. Doesnt that tell you something much more important than the source of this donation?

My take? Theres less to this than meets the eye.

That said, Guthrie should return the donation to the HCDO. Ill leave it to HCDO whether or not they return the money to Davari or use it to get out the vote.

Echoing An Instapundit Reader

This from Insty.

A WISE READER CAUTIONS: If I may offer a word of caution: The Benghazi affair is dreadfully serious, but the charge of treason against the President is overboard and will backfire. I hope you will use your good offices to tamp this down and keep people focused on the real issue: Who Was In Charge That Night? Wild talk about treason does not help.

I agree wholeheartedly. I dont believe that it is necessary to argue that anyone, much less Obama, sided with our enemies in order to make sense of the debacle in Benghazi. Human error and basic incompetence are more than sufficient to do the job.

Alleged Assault Victim Recants

Yesterday, I included Kyle Wood among the examples of violence against Republicans during this election. It appears that Wood has now recanted the claim.

According to the Madison Police Department, Kyle Wood has recanted his story about being assaulted in his home on the morning of Wednesday, October 24th.  Wood had told officers and reporters (including me) that he had been strangled and beaten, and thought it was because he was a gay man working for a Republican candidate for Congress.

From the MPD press release today:

In an interview this afternoon with Madison Police detectives, the victim in this case recanted his earlier statements in regards to this crime. This crime, alleged to have occurred on High Street in the South Police District, will be cleared as "Unfounded" for case reporting purposes. Once follow up investigation is completed, MPD's case file will be reviewed with Dane County District Attorney's Office.

I have, in the past, urged the prosecution and incarceration of those who have faked hate crimes for political or personal gain. My position is not changed.

Kyle Wood should go to jail.

Kyle Wood should go directly to jail.

Kyle Wood should not pass go.

Kyle Wood should not receive $200.

Faking hate crimes is not a game.

His actions here are reprehensible and he merits having the full force of the law visited upon him.

Racism, Democrat Style

After all, you have no right to your race or ethnicity if you dont vote that way. So says the chairman of the Texas Democrats.

If he is elected to the U.S. Senate as expected, Ted Cruz will be Texas' first Hispanic to snag that lofty post and one of the few in that chamber's history, but the state is not exactly abuzz about that ground-breaking aspect of his likely move.

Instead, there have been questions from some about his Hispanic credentials, and political scientists say his background and positions may put him at odds with many Texas Hispanics whose heritage is Mexican and who are more likely to be Democratic.

Cruz, a Republican, and the son of a Cuban immigrant, is aligned with the tea party and opposes the DREAM Act.

* * *

Texas Democratic Party Chairman Gilberto Hinojosa has been unrelenting in his criticism.

"His last name may be Cruz, but there is nothing, not an ounce, about the way he thinks and the way he has led his life that in any way is similar to Hispanics in the state of Texas and all across America," Hinojosa said. "Ted Cruz is as much Hispanic ... as Tom Cruise."

Could you imagine what would be said about "white leaders' declaring a putatively "white candidate" to be "not white enough" or even a "race traitor" because they fail to adequately represent the interests and beliefs of the white race? Such individuals would be deemed to be the lowest form of hatemongering racist. Why on earth does anyone defend the same sort of rhetoric out of these bigots who are attacking Cruz as "not Hispanic enough"?

Yesterday I did a post featuring Hinojosa's condemnation of "ignorance", "hatred", and "hate crimes". He claimed he and his fellow Democrats have historically "stood our moral ground" (if you exclude, I suppose, slavery, segregation and the sponsorship of the KKK) and that they would do so today.

Seems to me that TDP Chairman Gilberto Hinojosa stands in the proud tradition of Democrat leaders like Benjamin Tillman, Theodore Bilbo, Robert Byrd and Bull Connor in attacking those who are insufficiently loyal to others of their skin color and instead dare to both think for themselves and ally themselves politically with members of other races and ethnic groups. I guess that's what the Texas Democrat Party and its chairman consider to be the moral high ground today.

Why On Earth Is This Even A Story?

Is this really a news story that merited reporting, or is it just journalistic hyperventilation? I vote for the latter.

Klein Independent School District officials said the knife was found at Klein High School, 16503 Stuebner Airline Road, last week.

School district officials said the knife did not fit the legal definition of an illegal weapon, but all knives are not permitted on campus.

Officials have not said if the knife was taken to the school by a student or a staff member.

The incident is being investigated by school district police and administration. School district officials said appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.

If it isnt a weapon, it is merely a disciplinary issue. Why the press release? Why the story? And I wont get into the silliness of the policy.

Anti-Hispanic Tea Party Voters In Texas Sending Young Hispanic To US Senate Instead Of Old White Guy

Just because the Democrats and the liberal media tell you something about conservatives doesnt make it true. These numbers from the Texas ought to be instructive.

Numbers in the U.S. Senate race were similar to those in the top contest, with Republican Ted Cruz holding 54 percent of the support to Democrat Paul Sadlers 39 percent, according to the poll.

Of course, Tea Party racists (and Republicans in general) have a history of confounding the left-wing narrative by supporting Marco Rubio, Allen West, Herman Cain, and other well-qualified minorities on the basis of their positions on the issue. Indeed, the average Tea Party event is more racially diverse than an Occupy encampment.

Unlike Obama, This Man Has Every Right To Be Offended

You know, applying the same absolute moral authority standard that was applied to Cindy Sheehan by the Left.

In an appearance on Fox News Channels Geraldo at Large Sunday night, Charles Woods, father of slain Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, said President Barack Obama did not do all he could to save the four Americans who were killed in a terrorist raid on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. Obama should have reacted sooner, he said, because the consulate was American soil.

I was contacted by military personnel yesterday, who told me an interesting fact. And that is any consulate anywhere in the world is American soil, Woods said. Any attack on an American consulate is an attack on American soil. There were American citizens that were attacked for seven hours on American soil a couple thousand miles away from Washington, D.C.

My question of the president would be this: Your Honor, I respect your office as president. But if this attack on American citizens, on American soil, happened 2,000 miles away from Washington, D.C. say in Los Angeles or in Seattle would you have waited seven hours before you sent the first airplane? Would you have waited seven hours until the attack was over? Would you have waited a couple of days until you had all of the videos and all the information before you responded in a responsible military way?

Will President Obama be man enough to answer this grieving fathers questions? Or is he offended that the father of one of those who died as a result of his failure would dare to seek an accounting?

Obama Offended That Americans Question His Veracity

Sorry, Barry, but we are offended by four dead Americans who could have been saved if only you gave the order. We are also offended by the cover up.

President Obama says his administration is still investigating the attack on U.S. Consulate in Libya, and is offended at suggestions that it did not do enough to protect American targets there.

"Anytime a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans who were serving our country get killed, we have to figure out what happened and fix it," Obama said in a taped interview with MSNBC's Morning Joe.

"But," he added, "I do take offense with some suggestion that in any way, we haven't tried to make sure that the American people knew as the information was coming in what we believed."

I know you are the first black president, and that you have been treated with kid gloves by the press, which usually keeps a close eye on the misdeeds and failings of the Executive Branch. But the reality is that after four years, We The People are holding you to the same standard as the 43 guys who held the office before you. If you cant handle that, concede the election and slink on back to Chicago in disgrace.

If Romney Supporters Did This, We Would be Hearing Cries Of Voter Suppression And Disenfranchisement

Over the weekend, my wife sent me a link to a statement by the Texas Democrats about an incident that allegedly happened in west Texas involving damage to signs and an alleged assault.

They even have what they claim to be video of the alleged incident but the video is neither clear as to what happened nor necessarily convincing. For what it is worth, I'm glad it is not any more clear or convincing -- after all, the individual who made the video would have suffered serious injury had the incident been more intense than it was, and no documentation of an alleged incident is worth that.

Needless to say, if this represents an actual case of destruction of campaign signs and/or assault on an individual because of their political activity, I condemn it without reservation and hope that those responsible do serious jail time.

However, those who posted and publicized the video would like you to believe that this is something that only happens to Democrats. They would be wrong.

Take this story.

Police say thieves swiped about 100 campaign signs for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney from yards in a southwestern Indiana county.

Sullivan County sheriffs Lt. Jerry Mize says the signs were taken from spots around the county between late Friday and early Saturday. Mize tells the Sullivan Daily Times that political signs have been stolen around the county before, but not on this scale.

One of the signs was taken from the home of county Republican chairman Bill Springer. He says the thefts had to be well planned and involve more than one person to happen in one night.

Or this one.

Signs that the political climate's on fire?

One Leesburg couple found their actual Romney sign burning in their front yard.
A driver stopped to alert the Stevens Monday around 2 a.m.

Libby Stevens said, "It was scary. There was a knock at the door. There was a fireball in my front yard."

That set off Libby Stevens' two dogs. The Stevenses are Romney supporters. Before it all went up in flames, Stevens took a few snapshots of what was left of their 4-by-8 foot Romney sign in the front yard.

"There are political signs up and down the street. It's disheartening and sad that someone would chose to do this. shame on them. It's freedom of speech. What's wrong with them?" Libby Stevens said.

Then there is this little incident involving vandalized cars.

A case of campaign vandalism is under investigation Friday in Alta Loma.

Someone keyed the word Obama into two cars and slashed seats in another outside a residence that had Mitt Romney campaign signs.

Or this one involving nails in the parking lot of a Romney/Ryan rally.

Before the event could get under way, though, organizers say a truck affixed with "Obama" stickers drove through the parking lot and dumped quantities of nails.

"We went outside and picked up what we could," said Lou D'Abbraccio, holding a cup filled with nails. "But this was just wrong."

Lora Halberstadt, a Tea party member, said the group did call the Racine Police Department to file a report.

Then, of course, there are the assaults. I mentioned this one in an earlier post, but would like to bring your attention to this one as well.

A bitter and contentious Wisconsin congressional race saw a new level of antagonism Wednesday morning when an openly gay Republican campaign worker became the victim of an apparent hate crime.

Kyle Wood, a full-time volunteer working for GOP House candidate Chad Lee, was hospitalized for injuries suffered during what he said was an assault at his home.

Wood told The Daily Caller that vandalism preceding the assault, along with his attackers statements during the incident, suggested his sexual orientation and his politics each played a role.

So yes, I condemn what this video shows happening in Lubbock. I wish those on the Left would condemn -- and stop -- the violence and vandalism coming from their side. After all, such things are wrong no matter who does it or what candidate it is intended to benefit.

UPDATE -- Kyle Wood has recanted his claims and is likely to face charges. I've blogged further here.

Crossing The Church Electioneering Line OK For Black Pastors

I wrote about this matter yesterday but heres another example of what the Left would call theocrats in action if it were done by a white pastor who supported a Republican candidate.

Fifteen minutes into Sundays service at St. Pauls Baptist, before the sermon, the blessing of the babies, and the passing of the plate, Pastor Greg Moss issued an invitation to his predominantly black congregation: Those who had not yet voted could caravan with him to an uptown polling place after the final hymn.

Then, after counseling the 2,000 or so worshipers to make up their own minds who to vote for, Moss revealed his own candidate of choice by unbuttoning his jacket to reveal the front of his T-shirt: OMG. Obamas My Guy. The reaction: Cheers and a standing ovation.

Now Ive said it before I think government restrictions on what a pastor can say from the pulpit run afoul of the First Amendment and that they should be free to speak on moral and social issues without risking the government invoking its power to destroy those who fail to comply with its mandates. But the reality is that the law is very clear and Pastor Moss clearly crossed the line. Will the IRS under Barack Obama do its duty here?

The Dead President And The Future One

Ten days after his murder, Abraham Lincoln's body was carried down Broadway in New York as a part of the much longer funeral procession from Washington to Springfield, Illinois, where the sixteenth president would be interred.

Like so many New Yorkers, two young brothers named Elliot and Theodore watched this sad bit of history -- from the window of their grandfather's home. Their viewing of this sad event was captured in a photograph of the procession.

By a twist of fate, one of the brothers caught watching the funeral procession of the first president ever assassinated would find himself at the center of another presidential assassination. Thirty-six years, four months and nineteen days after this picture was taken, Theodore Roosevelt would become the twenty-sixth president after William McKinley succumbed to wounds received at the hands of an assassin nine days earlier. The other, Elliot, would become the father of a future first lady, Eleanor Roosevelt, whose husband, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, would die in office like Lincoln and McKinley.

And thus the threads of history weave together in their mysterious ways.

Wouldn't It Have Been More Efficient To Send A $40K Check To Each One?

Or even $50K -- because you know these families are certainly not getting $61K in benefits each.

New data compiled by the Republican side of the Senate Budget Committee shows that, last year, the United States spent over $60,000 to support welfare programs per each household that is in poverty. The calculations are based on data from the Census, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Congressional Research Services.

According to the Censuss American Community Survey, the number of households with incomes below the poverty line in 2011 was 16,807,795, the Senate Budget Committee notes. If you divide total federal and state spending by the number of households with incomes below the poverty line, the average spending per household in poverty was $61,194 in 2011.

That's nearly three times the amount of money that a family in poverty lives on in this country. Does it really make any sense to have a program that spends $61K to get $22K into the hands of the poor?

Wasn't Voter ID Supposed To Disenfranchise Black Voters?

Well, that claim is certainly disproved by the experience in the state of Georgia, which saw its law upheld under the Voting Rights Act.

More than a quarter million African American voters in Georgia have already cast ballots for the November elections, the highest participation rate ever recorded by the secretary of states office.

According to state elections officials, 780,545 Georgians, of which 33 percent were black, had already voted in the presidential contest as of Friday.

Should the preliminary rate of participation remain steady through the close of polling on November 6, this years election will be recorded as the single largest black voter turn out event in state history.

Let you think this is a fluke, consider that the law was passed in 2007 and was in effect for the 2008 election -- which also saw a record turnout by black voters. Now the records are being broken again. I guess the requirement of a photo ID isn't so disenfranchising after all!

Remember -- Politicking Pastors Only Bad If They Are White, Republican

On the other hand, this pastor and the pro-Obama activity being coordinated from his church with other pastors is just hunky-dory from the point of view of the Left -- and the IRS.

MIAMITomorrow, as the sun rises, Bishop Victor Curry of New Birth Baptist Church will wake up and race to the Stephen P. Clark Government Center in downtown. At 7 a.m., he will help lead south Floridas first early-vote rally. As soon as he can, he will hotfoot it to the South Dade Regional Library, 30-odd minutes away, for the days second early-vote rally. He will find some way to flee in time to make the start of the EBA Higher Education Awareness and Dropout Prevention Initiative in Miami Gardens, the heart of black south Florida, and take the stage next to Rev. Al Sharpton. Then back on the road, north to Broward County.

The plan, coordinated by at least 150 black pastors, is called Operation Lemonade. On Wednesday, I visited New Birth, parking near the van that promotes his radio talk show, and finding Currys office in the sprawling, 10-year-old gated complex. Outside the chapel, theres a signed message from President Obama congratulating Curry on the churchs anniversary. Inside Currys office, there are multiple pictures commemorating his meetings with Sharpton and with Bill Clinton, next to his lifetime membership plaque from the NAACP, and a picture from election night 2008. That year, churches got two whole weeks to turn out the early vote. This year they get one.

When the Republicans in the state passed the new voting laws, we discovered that they took away that Sunday right before the election, says Curry. What we decided to do was view that as them giving us a lemon. We can be sour, we can moan and groan about it, or we can do something. We can make lemonade. The first thrust is this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, and then were going to encourage people the entire next week.

Notice -- they are not even attempting to hide their activity. But the reality is that political activity by churches is not permitted by the IRS. Unless the churches involved are reliably Democrat and in the correct minority communities. Now I'm on record as believing that the government has no place regulating the speech coming out of churches, so I'm not bothered by the activity so much as I am the double standard.

How Desperate Are The Obamunists?

Pretty desperate -- if this truly sick ad is any indication.

Imagine an America
Where strip mines are fun and free
Where gays can be fixed
And sick people just die
And oil fills the sea

We don't have to pay for freeways!
Our schools are good enough
Give us endless wars
On foreign shores
And lots of Chinese stuff

We're the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And we're kinda blaming you

We haven't killed all the polar bears
But it's not for lack of trying
Big Bird is sacked
The Earth is cracked
And the atmosphere is frying

Congress went home early
They did their best we know
You can't cut spending
With elections pending
Unless it's welfare dough

We're the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And we're kinda blaming you

Find a park that is still open
And take a breath of poison air
They foreclosed your place
To build a weapon in space
But you can write off your au pair

It's a little awkward to tell you
But you left us holding the bag
When we look around
The place is all dumbed down
And the long term's kind of a drag

We're the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And yeah, we're blaming you

You did your best
You failed the test

Mom and Dad
We're blaming you!

First, the level of falsehood in this ad is stunning. I guess Obama and his supporters have embraced the notion put forward by Dr. Goebbels that if one lies the Big Lie it will be believed on the basis that no one will believe that the speaker of such a monstrous lie would say such a thing if it ere not true.

Second, much like as was seen in the National Socialist and international socialist dictatorships of the twentieth century (and run-of-the-mill totalitarian regimes, too), the use of innocent children to spread propaganda in support of the regime is considered to be acceptable. Of course, we new that, as it has been a tactic of Obama supporters for the last four years to indoctrinate the kids to propagandize the adults.

Third, Americans have long considered this ad -- broadcast just once -- to be among the deepest ethical lows in the history of political advertising. Doesn't the ad above make it seem rather tame?

As I've said -- this is a sign that Obama and his supporters have become desperate. We must work harder to sweep them all from power, lest we find this as our future.

Obama Announces Americans Cannot Consider Benghazi When Voting!

Because foreign policy failures and the subsequent cover up have nothing to do with this election!

President Obama again on Friday defended his administrations handling of the attack that killed four Americans in Libya, and said hes not holding back information ahead of Election Day.

The election has nothing to do with four brave Americans getting killed and us wanting to find out exactly what happened, Obama said in an interview with KUSA, the NBC affiliate in Denver.

Sorry, Barry, but I'm going to judge you based upon your entire record, not just the parts you give me permission to consider. And you, sir, are less than optimal.

Surely This Is Just A Coincidence

Ballots bound for a subgroup of the voting public that opposes the president mysteriously destroyed during the same close election in which the president's appointees failed to fully carry out he mandate of federal law that requires special assistance to ensure members of that subgroup are able to cast their votes and have them counted.

Federal officials say that absentee ballots being sent to U.S. military serving in Afghanistan may have been burned in a plane crash.

A top official in the Federal Voting Assistance Program this week notified election officials across the nation that a transport plane crashed at Shindad Air Base on Oct. 19.

The crash resulted in the destruction of 4,700 pounds of mail inbound to troops serving in the area.

Federal officials in their email to state election offices said they did not know if any ballots were destroyed. They also said the lost mail was limited to one zip code.

But they recommended that election officials resend a new ballot to anyone who requested one since the first ballot may have been destroyed in the crash and fire.

Could you imagine the outrage of the Left if the ballots in question had been bound for black voters and a GOP administration had failed to carry out requirements of the Voting Rights Act? There would be riots in the streets -- sort of like the riots Obama supporters are threatening to engage in when Obama loses the election.

Green Bay Bishop Speaks Truth To His Flock Regarding Support For Candidates

Bravo, Bishop Ricken.

Bishop David Ricken, the leader of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay, noted in a recent letter to parishioners that voting for candidates who support what he calls intrinsically evil positions, such as abortion and gay marriage, could put your own soul in jeopardy.

Rickens letter, dated Oct. 24, notes that the church has a responsibility to speak out regarding moral issues, especially on those issues that impact the common good. It goes on to note principles to keep in mind in the voting booth on Nov. 6, including abortion, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research, human cloning and gay marriage.

A well-formed Christian conscience does not permit one to vote for a political program that contradicts fundamental contents of faith and morals, Ricken said in the letter. Some candidates and one party have even chosen some of these as their partys or their personal political platform. To vote for someone in favor of these positions means that you could be morally complicit with these choices which are intrinsically evil. This could put your own soul in jeopardy.

While Rickens letter does not specify who should get parishioners votes, Republican candidates typically oppose abortion rights while Democrats, to a large degree, support them.

I'd like to point out that the bishop's letter also shows the flaw in American law regarding tax exemptions for churches being contingent upon silence on political candidates. Ricken made a solid case for how voting involves moral choices. Religious leaders must be free to speak on such moral choices. While he was able to walk a thin line in avoiding any endorsement or rejection of candidates by name, he should not ave been required to do so lest he federal government impose its power to destroy upon the religious body which he heads.

I Am A Fan Of Manti Teo

When I was a kid, I was a big fan of Notre Dame football. Over the years I have lost touch with college football, and other than games in which I knew former students were playing or the odd bowl game, I just dont care much about the college game. So when I saw the article my wife sent me about some guy named Teo, I figured she was sending me an article to share with my students about some rapper. I was wrong, but was right about sharing it with students.

That is all the lead in you are getting -- except for this picture of a little girl named Bridget.

Character is revealed behind closed doors. In todays me-first culture where sports "heroes" allow their need for the limelight to dominate and define their ethics, a story of real character and human connection isnt easy to find.

Bridget Smith loved Notre Dame football and got to watch the Irish beat Michigan on Sept. 22.
Photo provided

Manti Teo didnt even know Bridget Smith. They were two people from two worlds: A Mormon football star at Notre Dame who is a Hawaiian of Samoan descent. A dying 12-year-old Catholic girl from suburban Detroit.

It was earlier this month, just three weeks after Teos girlfriend, Lennay Kekua, had died of leukemia. His grandmother had died, too. He was trying to graduate. He was on the cover of the current Sports Illustrated. So much swirling in the mind of a college kid. How would you have handled all that at that age?

When his girlfriend died, the natural reaction for Teo could have been, "Why her? Why me?" It would have been understandable if he had been thinking about himself at that moment.

Instead: "Dear Mr. and Mrs. Smith." Teo wrote an emotional letter, via email. Picture a big, tough linebacker sitting at his computer, "definitely crying," as he said, over someone elses pain, some strangers pain.

All he had known about Bridget, all he had been told through a mutual friend, was that Bridget's brain tumor was finally proving too powerful and that she wasnt going to get out of the hospital again. And she loved Notre Dame football and Manti Teo.

Obviously, going through what Ive gone through, with my girlfriend passing away from cancer, that whole thing hit home for me, Teo said in a private moment the other day, My whole thing was just to reach out and let them know Im here. I wrote her parents.

Just letting them know that the heavenly father is always there. Although it may not seem like it right now, Hes always there to help. It was definitely hard to write.

And I think it helped to ease my pain, too.

On the other end of that email were Brian and Louise Smith. Brian, a Notre Dame alum and fan, and Louise, a St. Marys alum. They had watched the Notre Dame-Michigan game with Bridget just a few weeks earlier in the University of Michigan Intensive Care Unit. On Friday, Oct. 5, they were planning to disconnect Bridgets ventilator at 3 p.m.

It would be her last day.

That morning, they casually opened their email and saw one that had come from: MANTI TEO. He would pour out his feelings about his own losses and connect with the Smiths world.

We opened that letter that morning, and it was just a bright spot on the saddest day of our lives, Louise Smith said. We read it to her; we shared with her what it said. They say hearing is the last thing to go. I dont know. I believe she internalized it.

Its so encouraging to have someone in that position know theres something more important than football, more important than athletics. It was a beautiful letter, just sharing the experience with the death of his girlfriend.

I could go somewhere and find Manti Teos stats as a player. I could look around and see where he is projected to go in the draft if he is at all. And to be honest, I probably will simply out of curiosity. But none of that will change the fact that I am a fan of Manti Teo.

Not as a football player. As a human being.

And in the end, isnt that what matters?

By the way, the article in question will be going up on the wall in my room. Im sending it to the head coach of our football team, too, and I hope he passes it on to the rest of the coaching staff in his capacity as athletic director. After all, this is what we who are in education want our students to grow up to be decent human beings who dont forget that moral decency and compassion for others outweigh any sort of success on the playing field or in ones professional life. To the degree that we can help that process along by our own example and by holding up others as such examples, we teach those values and hopefully our students will learn these things as much or more than they learn the knowledge and skills we teach in our classes and on the field.

Grounds To Fire Even Impeach The Whole Obama Crew UPDATED

This needs more coverage from the media. It needs thorough investigation by Congress. If accurate, it requires the removal from office of all involved.

Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. consulate and subsequent attack several hours later was denied by U.S. officials -- who also told the CIA operators twice to "stand down" rather than help the ambassador's team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.

If this is right, Obama and his subordinates failed when the proverbial 3 AM phone call came in. The American public has a right to know if that was the case.

UPDATE -- This comes from the CIA, presumably at the behest of General Petraeus.

Breaking news on Benghazi: the CIA spokesman, presumably at the direction of CIA director David Petraeus, has put out this statement: "No one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate.

If that's the case, you can bet the Secretary of Defense did not give that order either. That would have been a decision from the highest levels of the Executive Branch. Did Obama give orders that directly led to the deaths of four Americans at Benghazi? Or did his subordinates do so because the president left orders not to wake him so he would be rested for a full day of fundraising?

A Restaurant To Boycott And A Team To Root Against

The Moosehead Grill in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Carolina Panthers.

A U.S. Marine who lost both his legs in Afghanistan was forced to leave a Charlotte restaurant with his family after local football fans hurled vile abuse at them for wearing Dallas Cowboys jerseys.

Marine Garrett Carnes, of Mooresville, North Carolina attended Sundays Carolina Panthers game against the Cowboys with his wife Courtney, their parents, and friends Brett and Nicole Coburn.

After the game, which the Cowboys won 19-14, the group stopped at the Moosehead Grill for dinner. Several members of the party, including Garrett Carnes, were proudly wearing their Dallas Cowboys jerseys.

A group of disgruntled Panthers fans spotted their jerseys and started to taunt Carnes and his group even before they entered the restaurant.

Carnes, who is still undergoing treatment for his wounds at a Washington-area hospital, told them he was a veteran who had lost his legs in Afghanistan.

After the patrons tried to start a fight with the Carnes party, they reseated the idiot who began the confrontation and allowed him and his party to stay.

The restaurant owner says the staff was just trying to "keep the peace". Here's hoping that Moosehead Grill is really peaceful from here on out -- with not a soul patronizing the place until the restaurant goes bankrupt.

Godaddy .Net Promo Code

When I first got started blogging, I wondered domains. Were they reserved exclusively for networks or hosting companies? Or were they instead open to anyone who wanted one. Over the years I've learned that the origin of that top-level was certainly the former, but that the latter has become the reality. It is therefore quite possible to obtain a .net domain no matter what your purpose. Indeed, I've thought about doing so because a political foe is squatting on the .com version of this blog's name.

Well, I might be able to register that blog on the cheap if I make use of one of the many Godaddy Promo Codes that I've seen being promoted by the fine folks at It seems that GoDaddy is offering some great deals right now, and among them is a Godaddy .net promo code that will save me a few bucks on my domain registration fee if I do make that choice. Just think -- my own domain name for less just because I make use of the Godaddy net coupon that is already up and ready for use at What is there to lose for me? And what is there for you to lose if you want your own special .net domain?

NYT Castle Doctrine Article Exposes Liberal Hypocrisy

And interestingly enough, on something other than the laws that allow homeowners to defend themselves from attack.

The last mistake Dan Fredenberg made was getting killed in another mans garage.

It was Sept. 22, and Mr. Fredenberg, 40, was upset. He strode up the driveway of a quiet subdivision here to confront Brice Harper, a 24-year-old romantically involved with Mr. Fredenbergs young wife. But as he walked through Mr. Harpers open garage door, Mr. Fredenberg was doing more than stepping uninvited onto someone elses property. He was unwittingly walking onto a legal landscape reshaped by laws that have given homeowners new leeway to use force inside their own homes.

Proponents say the laws strengthen peoples right to defend their homes. To others, they are a license to kill.

That night, in a doorway at the back of his garage, Mr. Harper aimed a gun at the unarmed Mr. Fredenberg, fired and struck him three times. Mr. Fredenberg crumpled to the garage floor, a few feet from Mr. Harper. He was dead before morning.

Had Mr. Fredenberg been shot on the street or sidewalk, the legal outcome might have been different. But on Oct. 9, the Flathead County attorney decided not to prosecute, saying that Montanas castle doctrine law, which maintains that a mans home is his castle, protected Mr. Harpers rights to vigorously defend himself there. The county attorney determined that Mr. Harper had the right to fetch his gun from his bedroom, confront Mr. Fredenberg in the garage and, fearing for his safety, shoot him.

So lets summarize angry, drunk estranged husband of homeowners girlfriend charges into the home spewing threats. Homeowner responds with a trio of shots that dispatch the intruder into the next life. Frankly, Ive got no problem with that especially with the homeowner knowing that the intruder had a history of domestic abuse against his estranged spouse. The prosecutor was right not to bring charges in this situation.

The New York Times, of course, disagrees as does most of its liberal-leaning commenters. That isnt a surprise, and would not even elicit my notice However, it is the responses of those liberal commenters that are illustrative of how shallow the pro-woman stance taken by your average liberal really is. What I read was a veritable War on Women from the Left!

Consider this comment, from commenter Jim Jones.

Is this what some people refer to as "freedom"? She has an affair, tells her husband, proceeds to take their young children to the home of this other man, in order to spend the day there, and finally asks this other man to drive her around the neighborhood, which ensures she is seen with the other man. The Victim returns home to find his wife & young children missing. The soon to be victim then goes looking for his family in one place he probably hoped they would not be. Upon the victim's arrival, the other man runs into his home, leaving the door open, so he can grab a gun and wait for the Vic to get within range.

The Vic was baited like a bear. What a bad law. So sad, so cold, so predictable. Someone else is sure to use similar tactics in order to legally take out an adversary.

Got that it is all the womans fault. How dare she spend the day with a man not her husband? She even drove around in a car with him! Sounds like Mr. Jones would prefer the much more morally sound legal code of Saudi Arabia to guarantee that such immoral behavior is properly punished.

And then theres Merlin.

As tragic as this case is, it's never a good idea to confront the man having an affair with your woman, not even on neutral ground, and worst of all in his territory. It's always the woman's fault, just as it is the man's fault when he cheats. The only time you are right to confront your woman's lover is in your own home or territory.

Got that shes your woman. Chattel. I saw any number of comments in which some liberal commenter argued that Fredenberg had every right to enter Harpers home because Harper had trespassed upon Fredenbergs property by having an affair with his wife. So much for the notion of her body, her choice! I wonder if such liberals would be taking the same position if a drunk guy who abused his wife had shown up in the garage of the local abortionist to punch him out (or worse) for aborting his child? I doubt it they would be celebrating him and the NYT article would have presented the doctor as a hero.

The number of comments by liberals arguing that Harper who according to Fredenbergs estranged wife was not involved in a sexual relationship with her, only an emotional one deserved to be assaulted because of that relationship was just astounding. All these folks showing up to argue that it was inappropriate to respond to the threat of assault with violence, and indeed arguing that the assailant had every right to commit assault. I wish someone had posted a comment asking if it would have been acceptable for Fredenberg to knock around Heather Fredenberg because of her relationship with Harper -- it would have been instructive to see how many would have recoiled at the notion that domestic violence against an estranged wife could be acceptable even as they condoned violence against the boyfriend.

And I wont get into the number of mewling anti-gunners who called for the reinstitution of criminal laws against adultery after decades of liberal efforts to overturn laws regulating sexual morality. Dont they realize that, having fought and won the sexual revolution, incidents like the one in the article are inevitable as men and women exercise the freedoms that sprung from it? Theres no putting that genie back in the bottle.

Oh, and as for all the comments arguing that Harper should have retreated from the garage to hide while awaiting the police instead of standing his ground in his own home, Id like to offer this undeniably true observation about such a course of action.

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

A Quotation From Chairman Obama

On Jay Lenos show.

Rape is rape.

I dont know anyone who disagrees with that statement, which was an attempt to refute a misrepresentation of a quote from Indiana senate candidate Richard Mourdock. Even Mourdock agrees with it.

But I do find it interesting that the president who declares that rape is rape has this guy as a surrogate.

One More Reason To Defund And Reject The UN

As an officially anti-Semitic body, we should have nothing to do with it.

The Washington Free Beacon has obtained a report soon to be released by the United Nations that calls for an international campaign of legal attacks and economic warfare on a group of American companies that do business in Israel, including Hewlett-Packard, Caterpillar Inc., and Motorola Solutions Inc.

The Human Rights Council (HRC), a body dominated by Islamic countries and known for its hostility to, and heavy focus on, the Jewish State, issued the report. The George W. Bush administration refused to participate in the HRC, but President Barack Obama joined it soon after taking office. Members of the HRC include infamous human rights abusers such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Libya, China, and Cuba.

Im sorry the notion that this body has any credibility in promoting human rights is akin to the idea that a room full of prostitutes have the moral authority to pass judgment on sexual abstinence. Theres no reason that American taxpayers should be financially supporting the organization.

Godaddy Ssl Promo Codes

If you are someone who spends any time on the internet, you know the importance of getting a good domain name, finding reliable hosting, and making sure your site is secure. Such things are critical no matter whether you are a small blogger or a big business. Your domain is your own little bit of real estate on the internet, and losing it is like losing your home or business real estate in the real world. If your site goes down , it will cost you traffic and money -- and is the equivalent of your doors being closed . And security problems? You may as well have a robber with a gun walk into your establishment and rip off both you and your customers. In other words, none of these things is desirable.

In particular, if you do any sort of online commerce it is critical that you have a secure connection for those transactions, lest you get hacked and find your proprietary information (and customer data) have been stolen. That is where SSL certificates come into play -- they tell your customers that your connection is secure and their information is safe.

GoDaddy has a number of great promotions like this one -- Godaddy ssl promo code --that will help you save money on your site and help you ensure that site is secure. So check out the Godaddy premium ssl promo code and see how you can save 90% on Godaddy ssl certificates!

It Is Amazing How Many Religious Bigots Back Obama!

After all, Bill Maher is a well-known opponent of religion who insults believers and their beliefs regularly. But at least you know where Maher is coming from he insults all religious faiths and calls them all crap, as his movie Religulous shows.

But what of this Obama backer? Spiritualist JZ Knight has shown up on video announcing this message.

The video evidence of Knights tirades are difficult to watch. F you, you Catholics! Knight bellows over cheers from her audience.

We will come on you in a terror, Knight growls in another cut. We will bring St. Peters temple down and we will swallow it in the sea. (St. Peters temple is a reference to the Catholic church itself.)

And apparently that isnt the worst the online daily that brought the matter to light indicated it could not sufficiently redact some of the worst of the comments sufficiently to even publish them! They describe the comments as full of anti-Catholic, anti-Christian, and anti-Semitic statements.

Here's the video for you to consider for yourself what JZ Knight has to say, and what the association between .the cult leader and the Democrats has to say about each.

Republicans have called upon Democrats to return all of Knights donations.

They refuse.

That tells us all we need to know.

More Evidence Of Obama Lies On Behghazi

First, it appears that the Obama Administration knew within two hours what was going on in Benghazi.

Officials at the White House and State Department were advised two hours after attackers assaulted the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11 that an Islamic militant group had claimed credit for the attack, official emails show.

The emails, obtained by Reuters from government sources not connected with U.S. spy agencies or the State Department and who requested anonymity, specifically mention that the Libyan group called Ansar al-Sharia had asserted responsibility for the attacks.

The brief emails also show how U.S. diplomats described the attack, even as it was still under way, to Washington.

Two hours. Not two days or two weeks -- two hours. Why were we deceived by the president and his appointees?

Oh, and why has the fact that there were actually SIX deaths been concealed from us? Is it that military deaths didn't rate acknowledgement by the Commander-in-Chief?

U.S. troops dispatched by helicopter across the Libyan desert to rescue Ambassador Chris Stevens and other diplomats in Benghazi ran into a fierce overnight ambush that left a further two Americans dead, Libyan officials told Reuters.

* * *

Libyan Deputy Interior Minister Wanis al-Sharif said Stevens and another diplomat died in the first series of incidents around the consulate, while the other two Americans died during the attempt to evacuate from the safe house to the airport.

"(The ambassador) died as a result of suffocation by the fumes of the fire inside the embassy and one was also killed by gunfire before around 37 people were moved to a place we thought was safe," Sharif told Reuters in Benghazi.

Speaking of the rescue mission, he said: "A team of commandos arrived by air and went to a farm which we thought was a secret location. Once they got there, they came under heavy fire from heavy machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades and automatic rifles, which resulted in the death of two others."

He estimated that a dozen or more Americans were hurt.

It has been some six weeks since the Benghazi incident. Why have the military heroes who were killed not publicly honored by President Obama like his political appointee was? Why have those wounded not been publicly decorated and acknowledged for their heroism? Even Jimmy Carter did that with the failed Iranian rescue mission in 1980 -- but apparently Obama could not be bothered to do so.

Was it because he didn't want the obvious comparison to the Desert One debacle in the course of Operation Eagle Claw?

Was it because Obama feared there being a darker counterpoint to his "I got bin Laden" football spiking?

Or was it simply that more dead Americans didn't fit with the lie-filled narrative that he and his cronies have been concocting and revising since September 11, 2012?

Dems Seek To Make Hay Over Indiana Senate Candidate Remarks On Pregnancy And Rape

But this one is a whole different thing from the Tod Akin situation in Missouri.

Richard Mourdock, the Indiana Republican Senate candidate, came under fire Tuesday night for comments suggesting that pregnancies occurring from rape are the result of God's will.

At a Tuesday night debate when Mourdock was asked about his position on abortion, he said the procedure should be allowed only to save the life of a mother.

"I know there are some who disagree and I respect their point of view but I believe that life begins at conception," Mourdock said at a debate with his Democratic opponent, Rep. Joe Donnelly and Libertarian Andrew Horning. "The only exception I have to have an abortion is in that case of the life of the mother."

Mourdock added: "I just struggled with it myself for a long time but I came to realize: Life is that gift from God that I think even if life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen."

I don't know that I really disagree with Richard Mourdock on this one, though I might have phrased that last sentence a little bit differently. I certainly believe that God can take a horrific situation where evil abounds and turn it to good. And while there is no doubt that rape is evil, isn't the new life of a child a glorious good? Certainly that is what my faith teaches -- the Judeo-Christian tradition recognizes that each person is created in the image and likeness of God and that we each contain within us that vital spark that God breathed into the human race at the beginning of creation.

And as a Christian, how can I NOT believe such thing? After all, the root of my faith is that God used the execution of an innocent man at the connivance of corrupt political and religious leaders to bring about the salvation of the world.

Yeah, Being Related To A Hack Actress Is A Lousy Thing

Nuff said.

It was revealed last week that movie star Halle Berry is related to former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

Appearing on NBC's Tonight Show Monday, Berry said, "Isnt that the worst thing you can imagine?

My deepest sympathy to Palin after all, for a talented woman like her to have a loser like Berry in her family tree is rather depressing.

Who Won? Who Lost? Who Cares?

The important number seems to be who is more likely to vote for one candidate or another.

Yeah, Obama won the PPP poll but what did it do with his standing among voters?

Tonight's debate was more a win for Obama than a loss for Romney. Romney, despite losing, came out with 38% of voters now saying they're more likely to vote for him to 35% who say they're less likely to for a +3 positive spread. Obama just came out even better with 37% of voters saying they're more likely to vote for him to 31% who are less likely to for a +6 spread.

What about CNN/ORC? Yeah, Obama won 48% to Romneys 40% -- but look at this.

Who did the debate make you more likely to vote for?

Mitt Romney 25%
Barack Obama 24%
Neither 50%

Again, it looks to me like the win did nothing to help Obama and the loss didnt hurt Romney.

Other polls have similar results an Obama win but high marks for Romney on his positions and no significant change in who will vote for whom.

That being the case, was it really a win or a loss for either?

Obama Thinks Hes The Sun King

What a revealing slip in last night's debate!

One thing I think Americans should be proud of, when Tunisians began to protest, this nationme my administrationstood with them earlier than just about any country. [Emphasis added]

Reminds me of Louis XIV the Sun King and his most famous quote.

Ltat cest Moi

For those unfamiliar with French (or at least with European history), that means I am the State.

Guess those old photoshopped pictures had Barack Obama pegged just right.

UPDATE: Lest anyone accuse me of copying other bloggers on this theme, let me point out this tweet from during the debate last night.

Fraudulent Centenarian Registrations In North Carolina?

You have to admit -- it looks suspicious.

Apparently those ultra-healthy seniors over 110 have aged and are now astoundingly over 112 years old, and are still able to make it to the polls ahead of time.

According to a post originally from the Silence Dogood political blog report, there were at least 758 individuals over the age of 112 who had either risen from their respective graves, or otherwise, to vote once again for the Democrats in charge, who might apparently have also guaranteed them an ever-lasting vote for life and beyond.

In visiting the political tracking site, we later found the same story in evidence, except the number of centenarian voters had increased measurably to 832 voters over the age of 112. Of these voters, over 70% were slated as Democrats, with a diminutive 25% counted as Republicans. The rest were unaffiliated.

When peering a little more deeply at the numbers we find that an astounding 2,374 people between the ages of 94 and 100 have already voted in the NC election to date. While an even more astounding 832 votes came from those individuals aged 112. However, according to the Guinness book of world records, the oldest living person in the world, at present, lives in Japan and is 114 years old. It would seem obvious that, according to the NC vote registry, this old fellow might be nudged aside in the near future, especially considering the crop of spry 112 year-olds seemingly alive and well in the old North State.

In fact, two of the 112 year aged voters were mail-in ballots from overseas; ostensibly vacationing to escape the now bitterly polarized political contest, and who can blame them?

Either North Carolina has something in the water that increases longevity to an astonishing degree -- or there are fraudulent votes going on. How about someone in the media going to meet some of these 112 year old voters -- their addresses are on file, after all, and they would certainly make for quite a human interest story.

Either that, or a Pulitzer winning story on voter fraud.

Criminals Campaigning For Democrat Sheriff In Harris County

The crooks want to see Democrat Adrian Garcia reelected to the top county-wide law enforcement job in Harris County.

A political action committee that employs door-to-door canvassers in the Houston area said that about 10 percent of their workforce includes people with criminal histories.

The Texas Organizing Project, known as TOP, bills itself as a group that "promotes social and economic equality through community and electoral organizing," according to one of their handouts.

The group encourages people to vote, and they officially support only one candidate in Harris County -- Sheriff Adrian Garcia.

When asked about the matter, Garcia thought it was just fine.

Criminals campaigning for the county's top cop.

What could possibly go wrong?

Wisconsin State Senator's Son Beaten By Thugs Over Romney-Ryan Sign In His Yard

But hey, at least they didn't do something truly evil and unAmerican like ask him for a photo ID -- they just assaulted him for daring to exercise his right to free speech.

State Senator Neal Kedzie says his son was attacked while trying to stop someone from stealing his Romney/Ryan yard sign.

Whitewater Police tell NBC15 News this is an active investigation.

Here is the statement released by Senator Neal Kedzie:

Early on Friday morning, October 19th, my son Sean was awakened by noises outside his residence in Whitewater. As he went to see what the commotion was about, he noticed an individual removing a Romney/Ryan yard sign from his property. He yelled to the person that they were taking something not theirs and to return it immediately.

The individual returned the sign, however, a second person confronted and attacked Sean without warning.

Sean was wrestled to the ground by both persons, held down by a constricting chokehold, and struck repeatedly about the face and head.

He nearly passed out from the chokehold and suffered contusions to his face and eyes.

Fortunately, an alert neighbor heard the commotion, scared the individuals away, and called the police.

My wife and I were awakened by a telephone call from Seans roommate that Sean had been taken by ambulance to Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital.

Sean was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital the same day.

As this was a private family matter, we chose not to remark publicly about it and allow law enforcement to do their job. But we understand these types of incidents will eventually become public and questions will arise, particularly in my position as a state legislator.

Sean is still recovering from the injuries he sustained as a result of this beating, and we are confident he will make a full recovery.

But obviously, as parents, we are shaken by this event and very troubled it was apparently initiated and motivated for political reasons.

I'm sure there will be no federal civil rights investigation ordered by the Department of Justice.

I'm sure that there won't be federal observers or FBI agents dispatched to protect the rights of voters like Sean Kedzie from violation by violent thugs.

I'm sure that the UN won't be looking for signs of voter intimidation by Obama supporters against his opponents.

I'm sure that there will be no outraged editorials rehearsing the long history of Democrat violence against Republican voters -- one that dates back to the days when the KKK served as the paramilitary terrorist wing of the Democrat Party.

After all, we know that only left-wing certified victim group members who toe the liberal line have any rights that merit respect by the denizens of the Left.

And I tell you without a doubt that such a thing would not happen here in Texas -- concealed carry and stand-your-ground would likely have resulted in the prevention of such an incident. Scott Walker and Wisconsin Republicans need to push for such laws in their state so that Wisconsinites can protect themselves from Democrat violence.

And funny this is Wisconsin -- where criminal activity designed to suppress conservative voter turnout has happened in the past.

LSU Airbrushes Crosses Out Of Photos Lest They Offend The Christ-Haters

You can show diverse students at LSU so long as their diversity doesnt include expressing Christianity.

A group of Louisiana State University football fans whose admiration for the Tigers is second only to their love for Jesus is outraged after the school digitally erased the tiny crosses they painted on their bare upper chests at a recent football game.

LSU officials sent out a photo of The Painted Posse, Christian students who paint their bodies with LSU school colors and small crosses for home games, in an email about the LSU game against South Carolina on Oct. 13. The students were shocked to see the photo, which appeared to be otherwise untouched, in the newsletter that went out following the Tigers' 23-21 win over the then-No. 3 Gamecocks. The Tigers are now 7-1 for the season.

If you look at the painted crosses, they are small and unobtrusive and I certainly would never have recognized them as such.

But that isnt good enough for LSU.

School spokesman Herb Vincent told the site the school altered the image to prevent other students from being offended by the weekly Geaux-Mail newsletter.

Would they airbrush out a yarmulke? What about a Muslim womans hijab? Of course not so how dare they airbrush out a cross?

Maybe because Christians are the last religious group it is permissible to persecute and insult in America.

Illegal Donations For Obama?

Why isnt the MSM reporting on this story?

A soon to be released report from the conservative Government Accountability Institute shows that President Barack Obamas re-election campaign has increasingly collected more electronic donations from non-existent ZIP codes throughout the 2012 campaign cycle.

From February through June this year the GAI findings reported that the Obama campaign collected $175,816.26 in electronic donations from non-existent ZIP codes. One month later, the campaign raised $411,369.55 through such donations and $197,464.59 in August.

By the end of September, the Obama campaign raked in $2,199,204.38 thanks to donations from non-existent ZIP codes.

Surely you cant tell me that there are that many mistyped zip codes by donors. That leaves us with only one answer fraud.

Candidate Working Hard

Even though he wasnt my choice to be the GOP nominee in my brand new congressional district, Ive got to give Steve Stockman credit for his hard work and his unwillingness to take anything for granted.

Former Congressman Steve Stockman is taking no chances in his bid to become the US Representative for the new Texas Congressional District 36. And Ive got proof!

I was driving home and saw this volunteer putting out signs, so I stopped and took his picture. His cohort, Iris Gaddis, didnt want her picture taken. Women. What can you say?

It was good to see them out working despite the predictions of an easy victory over Democrat Max Martin. They told me that they could use more volunteers helping to put signs up. If you are so inclined, you can click here and let them know that you are ready, willing, and able!

Ill almost certainly support a challenger in the GOP primary two years from now, but I respect that the man is engaged in an active campaign when he could simply coast. I just wish I considered him honest and trustworthy enough to actually cast my vote for him this year.

Why Dissent Is No Longer Patriotic, Questioning Authority Is Racist

Spot on thinking by Ed Driscoll.

In the 1960s, the left insisted that we Question Authority. Now that the reactionary left is authority ancient, sclerotic, calcified though it may be, they seem to be having second thoughts about that notion.

We were apparently supposed to bow down and worship once they got control and the fact that we wont is evidence that we are evil rather than them being wrong.

UN Seeks To Interfere With US Sovereignty, Elections

I was prepared to let this matter go -- after all, I've got no problem with neutral parties watching our elections. In that I disagree with my esteemed friends from True The Vote.

United Nations-affiliated election monitors from Europe and central Asia will be at polling places around the U.S. looking for voter suppression activities by conservative groups, a concern raised by civil rights groups during a meeting this week. The intervention has drawn criticism from a prominent conservative-leaning group combating election fraud.

The request for foreign monitoring of election sites drew a strong rebuke from Catherine Engelbrecht, founder and president of True the Vote, a conservative-leaning group seeking to crack down on election fraud.

These activist groups sought assistance not from American sources, but from the United Nations, she said in a statement to The Hill. The United Nations has no jurisdiction over American elections.

The observers, from countries such as Germany, France, Serbia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, will observe voting at polling places and other political activity.

I'm no longer nearly so tolerant after this from a UN official.

The United Nations Special Rapporteur on Counter-Terrorism and Human Rights has warned Americans not to elect Republican Mitt Romney in next months presidential election, saying that doing so would be a democratic mandate for torture.

The UNs Ben Emmerson was referring to Romneys refusal to rule out the use of waterboarding in interrogating terror detainees, a practice that President Barack Obama has ended.

Can we truly accept the notion that these observers are neutral when UN officials are explicitly giving a warning to Americans as to who is an acceptable candidate? I think not.

I urge state and local officials -- not to mention federal ones -- to bar any UN affiliated observer from all polling places within their jurisdiction.

Doesn't This Mom Have Absolute Moral Authority?

Or does the fact she is questioning the Obama Administration make her a racist or otherwise unworthy of consideration?

The mother of an American diplomat killed during a terrorist raid on the U.S. consulate in Libya has renewed her attacks on Barack Obama after the President's appearance on The Daily Show.

Pat Smith, whose son Sean died in the raid in Benghazi, spoke of her anger to the New York Post after the President told Jon Stewart that her son's death was not 'optimal' on Thursday night.

She hit out at Mr Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's handling of the crisis and security at the consulate, telling the paper: 'Theyre on the top. Theyre the big cheeses. If they didnt make the decision, they should have been the ones that made the decision.'

She also talked of her distress at the confusion surrounding her son's death.

'Everyones giving me different answers. I dont have good answers, and they are not giving me good answers,' she said. 'Some of the people [from the government] looked me right in the eye and lied to me.'

'Somebody is lying, or else these crooks are running our country, and I dont choose to believe that.'

Mrs. Smith, I grieve with you for the loss of your brave son. But you had better believe that we do, in fact, have dishonest men and women running our country and they do not care if you are satisfied with their transparently false explanations of your son's death. They care about one thing -- November 6 -- and will say anything to anyone if it helps Obama win. But I urge you nonetheless to fight the good fight on this one, and to help open the eyes of all patriotic Americans to the reality of the choice we face.

Libyan Grand Mufti Demands References To Democracy, Religious Freedom Be Removed From Textbooks

You know -- lest children get the idea that they can pick their own religion, or their own leaders.

he Libya Herald reported on Thursday that the Fatwa Office has asked the Ministry of Education in Libya to remove passages related to democracy and freedom of religion from school textbooks.

Libyas Dar Al-Ifta (the Fatwa office), presided by Grand Mufti Sheikh Sadeq Al-Ghariani, has called on the Ministry of Education to remove passages relating to democracy and freedom of religion from school textbooks, the article states.

Anyone want to argue these folks are "misunderstanders of Islam", or that they are insufficiently educated about what Islam teaches? Or would the defenders of Islam be willing t concede that Islam and freedom are at odds with each other under Islamic teaching?

Obamas Veep Thinks US At War In Iran!

As incompetent as Joe Biden is, we can only conclude that the man who selected him is even more incompetent.

Vice President Joe Biden asked a crowd in Las Vegas how many knew someone who had served in Iraq or Iran. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) immediately raised his hand, despite the fact that the U.S. isnt at war with Iran.

How many of you know someone whos served in Iraq and Iran, Biden asked Thursday. Reid, seated on the stage behind Biden, raised his left hand.
Biden then asked if anyone knew of a person wounded in Iraq or Iran. Reid again raised his hand.

Biden went on to say that we owe veterans of the wars in Iraq or Iran.

No Campaign, But Lots Of Dollars To Candidates Consultant His Wife

Looks like a way of enriching the family with campaign dollars.

Who is the candidate? Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr.

Though he hasn't sent out a campaign mailer, video or spoken in public in months, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. has spent about the same amount of money in his campaign to hold onto his seat as others in competitive re-election fights, records show.

Included in his expenditures are fees paid to a political consulting business owned by his wife, Chicago Ald. Sandi Jackson (7th).

"For the last four months, his wife is still getting $5,000 checks from the campaign, where during those months he's in the hospital," said Jackson's Republican challenger, Brian Woodworth.

No wonder he needs to go back to Mayo Clinic it will likely help with his insanity defense after the feds indict him.

California Seeks Violation Of Attorney Client Privilege To Potentially Solve Murders

Personally, I will always regret that any member of the Manson Family was allowed to walk the streets following the disclosure of their criminal activities -- indeed, that any of them were allowed to continue breathing. That said, the right of an individual to communicate confidentially with their lawyer must be held sacrosanct and for the state to seize records and recordings of conversations an individual and their attorney and then use them as an investigative tool is a constitutional obscenity.

Even if the probable perp is a Manson Family member and a convicted murderer, and the state wishes to solve other murders.

The LAPD on Thursday announced it has open investigations on a dozen unsolved homicides near known Manson Family hangouts around Los Angeles.

The revelation came amid a legal battle to obtain hours of audio tape recordings between former Charles Manson follower and convicted murderer Charles "Tex" Watson and his lawyer.

* * *

The unheard recordings sought by the LAPD were made more than four decades ago, after Watsons arrest for his role in the Tate-LaBianca slayings.

LAPDs effort to obtain the tapes was not known publicly until it was reported by NBC4 News in May. And Watson has been fighting to keep those tapes under wraps. Police believe they may hold clues to "additional unsolved murders committed by followers of Charles Manson."

Earlier this year, a court order authorized LAPD to take possession of the recordings, but Watsons lawyer obtained a "stay" order effectively stopping the release of the tapes while his appeal is heard.

The LAPD tried to obtain the tapes using a search warrant, according to the Times. But on Oct. 9, a federal judge in Texas granted an emergency order barring police from executing a search warrant at an office where the tapes are kept.

For now, the tapes remain in the custody of a Texas bankruptcy trustee, who took responsibility for them after the 2009 death of Watson's original attorney, Bill Boyd. Boyd had made the recordings.

Where would this precedent stop? Would any individual be able to communicate with their lawyer free from the fear that their conversations could later be used against them? What would this do to the ability of an accused individual to consult with their lawyer and arrange for an effective defense?

Bipartisanship, Obama-Style

Gimme what I want or I send the country into a depression that will make my first term look like the Reagan economic boom.

President Obama is prepared to veto legislation to block year-end tax hikes and spending cuts, collectively known as the fiscal cliff, unless Republicans bow to his demand to raise tax rates for the wealthy, administration officials said.

Freed from the political and economic constraints that have tied his hands in the past, Obama is ready to play hardball with Republicans, who have so far successfully resisted a deal to tame the debt that includes higher taxes, Obamas allies say.

In the days after the November election, the tables will be turned: Taxes are scheduled to rise dramatically in January for people at all income levels, and Republicans will be unable to stop those automatic increases alone.

If he wins reelection, Obama may finally be able to dictate the terms of a bipartisan debt-reduction deal. And if he loses to Republican Mitt Romney, Obama could make sure that tax rates rise before he hands over the keys to the White House on Inauguration Day in late January.

Administration officials declined to say whether the veto threat will stand if Obama loses the election.

The threat is immoral. Obama is playing with the economic health of the nation is irresponsible and let there be no doubt that he will be held personally responsible by the American people if he carries out this threat.

Another Unprofessional Educator

Folks like this have no place in the classroom.

An elementary school teacher in Chesapeake, Va. has been charged with simple assault after a parent claimed her daughters hand was cut open as a result of the teacher yanking her arm aggressively while trying to teach students an Islamic hand sign.

Officer Leo Kosinski, a spokesman for the Chesapeake Police Department, told TheBlaze that Tara Harris was criminally charged with a misdemeanor on Oct. 11 and released on a summons. The case is currently under investigation.
Its still a criminal charge. It happened at the school and it involved a student, Kosinski said. The police department could not release any additional information.

Now I can think of relatively few instances in which a teacher should be teaching her elementary students how to engage in a religious practice. Especially since the mother makes it clear that this is neither an isolated incident nor related to the curriculum.

Stephanie Bennett, the mother of the 10-year-old girl who was allegedly assaulted at Butts Road Intermediate School, told TheBlaze in an emotional phone interview that Harris has a disturbing trend of indoctrinating students with Islamic teachings. She also said the teacher openly campaigns for President Barack Obama in the classroom.

The incident of alleged assault occurred on October 2, according to Bennett.
The teacher was going over Islamic hand signs with the children she stayed on this issue for two days straight during their reading and math class, she said.

Now Ms. Harris has apparently been terminated, according to the parent. But it is outrageous that it took injury to a child to bring that about, given that the woman was abusing her position as a teacher to indoctrinate her students with her political and religious beliefs.

By the way I know how I what hand sign I teach my child to to use in response to a teacher forcing her to learn Islamic hand signs in a reading or math class.

Editorializing In A News Story

I dont want to discuss gay marriage, same-sex couples, or what proper policy should be on either of those matters. I just want to point out how the left-wing mainstream media makes editorial comments in their articles.

New York (CNN) -- A federal appeals court in New York became the nation's second to strike down the Defense of Marriage Act, finding that the Clinton-era law's denial of federal benefits to mar

The divisive act, which was passed in 1996, bars federal recognition of such marriages and says other states cannot be forced to recognize them.

Notice that word divisive. Is it, really?

The law passed the Senate 85-14. It passed the House 342-67, with the support of 70% of Democrats.

It was signed by a Democrat president.

A majority of Americans still oppose same sex marriage and the law.

I wouldnt call that divisive.

What is divisive is the rhetoric of those who support gay marriage and oppose DOMA.

But dont expect the media to say that. After all, they are part of that minority side of the issue, and are the purveyors of divisiveness.

Chris Stevens Died, Obama Lied

Obamas faithful media didnt think that Obama and his surrogates had characterized the Benghazi attacks as terrorism immediately. They all said it was September 20 before that happened.

Next, lets look at quotes from the media who reported on September 20th, thats nine days after the attack, that the White House, for the first time called it a terrorist attack.

ABC News: For the first time, White House press secretary Jay Carney publicly characterized the deadly assault on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, as a terrorist attack.

LA Times: The White House for the first time Thursday described the Sept. 11 assault on the U.S. Consulate in Libya as a terrorist attack that may have involved militants linked to Al Qaeda.

CNN: The White House, for the first time Thursday, declared the attack that killed Stevens and three other people a terrorist attack.

So why do they now claim that Obama said it was a terrorist attack immediately? Could it be because they have a vested interest in getting him reelected, and his weakness as a foreign policy and terrorist fighting president is quite obvious?

National Geographics Osama Movie Must Not Be Broadcast!

After all, theres no telling how much rioting and other violence the film may provoke maybe even murders. It is in the best interest of America that the film be suppressed, and those involved in making it arrested and imprisoned for hurting Muslim feelings by glorifying those who murdered that great defender of Islamic values, Osama bin Laden! And we have been warned!

The National Geographic Channel's Washington, DC headquarters has increased security after being inundated with terror threats over the upcoming release of the film Seal Team Six: The Raid on Osama Bin Laden, according to a source.

The full-length feature film is the first dramatization of the U.S. special forces operation that killed the mastermind of the September 11 attacks in Pakistan last May.

According to a New York Post source, the channel has been bombarded with phone calls and blogs posts from 'Muslim extremist groups' warning that anyone airing a film like this is asking for trouble.

What? You are offended by my commentary before the excerpt? Why? Wasnt that the argument made by the Left regarding Innocence of Muslims after Obama and his State Department incompetently blamed that film for their own failure to provide appropriate security on the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks? Why shouldnt it apply here?

Oh, I get it the film glorifies the unicorn-riding demigod who only ordered the killing of bin Laden after canceling it three times on the advice of Valerie Jarrett.

Chris Matthews Declares That Romney Effort To Enforce Debate Rules Violated Constitution

I guess this is part of that living constitution that liberals like to talk about, because there is nothing in the actual document that forbids telling the president to wait his turn to speak during a debate.

Matthews later played a clip of the memorable exchange between Romney and Obama over permits for energy exploration on federal land, which are down over the last four years. As Obama attempted to interrupt Romney, he told the president youll get your chance to talk.

I dont think he understands the Constitution of the United StatesHes the President of the United States. You dont say, youll get your chance, Matthews said.

Lipton added: If Mitt Romney were the president and Barack Obama were the challenger, and these roles were reversed, and Obama treated Romney the president in this construct the way he was treated, you would have heard an outcry from coast to coast and you would never, ever hear the end of itIt is rude. Its inexcusable. I think its a very, very sad day when the presidency, which has been under fire since Nixon and particular this president can be treated this way by someone who is an American citizen.

Matthews said it was a lack of deference on Romneys part. Through it all he looked down at the presidentHe looked down at him as a person.

We all saw how deferential the Left was to George W. Bush for four years, so the argument that Romney had to defer to the O-Bozo is simply offensive. To question Romneys Americanism his patriotism for insisting that he be given the chance to complete an answer during a debate is even more so. But Im not surprised that Matthews and his guest were taken aback by the failure of the GOP candidate to show deference to the president the media, especially MSNBC, has deferred to Obama so much for the last four years that it has seemed like they were all Obama appointees and not independent journalists! No wonder they are offended when someone stands up and challenges him!

Obama Makes Blacks Feel Less Free

Would this mean he is raaaaacist?

A new study from Washington University in St. Louis finds that under Obama, many black Americans feel less free than whites when it comes to political participation.

* * *

The study found that while the election of Obama initially boosted feelings of political empowerment among black Americans, those sentiments significantly faded in the years that followedespecially among conservative and religious blacks.

These two groups make up a large segment of the black population, with 56 percent of blacks identifying as "born again," and 39 percent of blacks as "somewhat conservative," according to the study.

* * *

In 2009, the year after Obama was elected, 71 percent of blacks reported feeling as free to speak one's mind as they used to.

"But then perceptions of political freedom deteriorated among conservative and religious blacks," says Gibson. By 2011, the percentage of blacks who felt as free to speak their mind had dropped to 56 percent, back to pre-Obama levels. (White Americans also reported feeling less free to speak one's mind under Obama, but the decline was far less than among blacks).

Given that Obama, his administration, and his surrogates have sought to make anyone who disagrees with him feel less free to speak their views publicly, I guess this isnt a surprise. Besides, we have seen what happens to conservative and Republican blacks who dare to speak out in support of their values they are savagely attacked with racial slurs by Obama supporters of all races. Sort of pathetic, isnt it, that the first black president would make his own people feel less free and less empowered?

Zero Tolerance Gone Crazy

As a teacher, I really hate zero tolerance policies regarding discipline. After all, when you say every student that does X will get punishment Y, you immediately create the potential (indeed, the likelihood) of injustice.

Take this case.

ANDERSON, Ind. - Some students at Highland Middle School in Anderson have been suspended after their teacher accidentally synced a topless picture of herself to a school-issued iPad.

Joshua Troutt, 13, said he and three other students were playing a game on the iPad in class when one of the students pressed a button and a photograph of the teacher's partially bare chest was revealed.

"It's not our fault that she had the photo on there," Troutt said. "We couldn't do anything not to look at it, if it just popped up when he pressed the button. It was her fault that she had the photo on there. Her iPhone synched to it. She had to have pressed something to make all of her photos synch on there."

* * *

Assistant Superintendent Beth Clark acknowledged that the incident was an accident, and said the district's technology use policy was followed.

She said the students involved have been suspended and threatened with expulsion.

The students are suspended because they opened a file their teacher sent them, not knowing what was in the file? I fail to see where they have done anything worthy of punishment, much less a suspension. After all, they were not surfing for porn or bringing boobie pics to school to share with their friends. They were trying to do an assignment they were given and got a picture they were not looking for.

But I can here the district officials giving the typical bureaucratic response the rules require that any student receiving or viewing pornography at school must be suspended it is district policy. Never mind that the district policy was not designed to apply in this situation, where students were following a teachers classroom instructions and received a pornographic image from their teacher. Any deviation, the bureaucrats and their lawyers reason, will open the district up to lawsuits from some kid who brings porn with him to school just like we have to expel a student with a butter knife in his lunch box lest the kid who charged down the hallway waving a machete or samurai sword persuade a judge the rules are not consistently applied and he should only receive a detention.

Indeed, this reminds me of an absurd incident at the school where I taught a dozen years ago. One of my boys was the top cadet in the campus ROTC unit, and so had email privileges. One day a student from another school in another district sent him an email with a pornographic jpeg attached, which he promptly deleted from his account. Unfortunately, he did not also empty the trash bin and so when the other school notified our school about the inappropriate email, the email was still in his trash folder. The result? Three days suspension out of school, three days of in-school suspension, restriction of his computer access at school and the loss of his ROTC rank after all, that is what the districts policy required and the mere fact that this was a good kid who had tried to do the handle the situation appropriately (and unintentionally failed to delete all copies of the email) was not even considered by those who consider student discipline to be a way of providing the district with legal cover rather than a means of teaching students appropriate conduct.

I hope these parents sue. Im sure they will win. And I hope the teacher receives more than the slap on the wrist that the article hints may have been the case.

UPDATED! -- Leftists Outraged That Romney Son Loves His Dad, Gets Angry At False Attacks On Him

One of the refreshing things about the Romney boys is that they are real human beings who are honest enough to answer questions honestly, where the trained-from-the-womb children of career politicians know not to do so.

Left-wingers don't like that, especially when it means one of the Romney boys makes a candid observation.

BILL LUMAYE: Im going to ask something I think a lot of people want to know, or at least I do. What is it like for you to hear the President of the United States call your dad a liar. How do you react to that?

TAGG ROMNEY: Jump out of your seat and you want to rush down to the debate stage and take a swing at him. But you know you cant do that because Well, first there is a lot of Secret Service between you and him but also because this is the nature of the process.

And I'm sure that, in her more candid moments, Michelle Obama would admit to wanting to claw the eyes out of her husbands political opponents when they attack him. Such a reaction would be a natural one -- and no more indicative of some sort of character flaw than Tagg Romney's comment.

Unless, of course, you consider loving someone and having a visceral desire to defend them to be somehow psychologically unhealthy.

UPDATE: The race card is played by The Atlantic's Ta-Nehisi Coates:

Yes because a good whippin' would teach that Obama boy to mind his place.

It's worth trying to imagine any black man associated with a credible black candidate for the presidency, joking about beating down the incumbent president of the United States. Racism isn't just in what you do and don't say, but in the terrain you walk. It is baked in the cake -- a fact which is hard to understand when you are the party of white people.

Just more of the "white people -- especially Republican white people -- are automatically racist" claptrap that we've heard again and again from Pro-bama sycophants.

And it has been noted that Michelle Obama has made precisely the sort of comment I postulated, and regarding a white former president to boot!

[Michelle Obama's] pride visibly chafes at being asked to subsume her personality, to make herself seem duller and less independent than she is, even in the service of getting her husband elected President of the United States. In Wisconsin, I asked her if she was offended by Bill Clintons use of the phrase fairytale to describe her husbands characterisation of his position on the Iraq war. At first, Obama responded with a curt No. But, after a few seconds, she affected a funny voice. I want to rip his eyes out! she said, clawing at the air with her fingernails. One of her advisers gave her a nervous look. Kidding! Obama said. See, this is what gets me into trouble.

I had forgotten that one -- but now recall that I wasn't outraged at all by the comment, but instead understood that the rough and tumble attacks on the campaign trail most certainly causes those who love the candidate most to at least fantasize about opening a can of whup-ass on those making harsh attacks,

Heck -- I have no doubt that Nancy wanted to kick the butts of her beloved Ronnie's detractors, too.

I'm Sure It Is Just Another Coincidence

Another attempt to commit a terrorist attack on Americans and our government institutions, another Muslim perp.

Federal authorities arrested a Bangladeshi national Wednesday morning for allegedly plotting to blow up a Federal Reserve Bank in New York City's lower Manhattan, mere blocks away from the site of the terrorist attack of Sept. 11, 2001. The bank is one of 12 branches around the country.

The 21-year-old suspect, Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis, attempted to detonate what he thought was a 1,000-pound bomb in front of the Fed building on Liberty Street, but the device was a fake supplied to him by undercover FBI agents who had been tracking his activity, the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force said Wednesday afternoon.

The usual disclaimers apply here -- most Muslims are peaceful people, and most don't support terrorism. That said, we once again find that members of a faith that constitutes a small minority of our population are at the center of another terrorist plot directed against America -- and so it is fair to say that something is wrong with Islam. It is up to Muslims to find it and fix it -- and if they cannot or will not, then the day may be fast approaching when Americans decide that this profound difference between Islam and other faiths constitutes a basis for treating Islam and its followers differently from other faiths. And I take no pleasure in making that observation.

Million Dollar Obama Donor Makes Racist Tweet Regarding Romney -- Campaign Silent

Just imagine if anyone connected to the Romney campaign raised the opposite question regarding Obama.

Of course, such "edgy" comedic racism will get a pass from the regressives of the Democrat Party -- because, after all, the Democrats have been the party of racism for the entire span of its existence. First it was slavery, segregation and the KKK, now it is an equally undisguised anti-white racism that is actively supported and encouraged by the leaders of the party.

By the way -- the racist hate continues in the responses that follow -- all from good supporters of Obama.

Sad News On McGovern

Ive often disagreed with his politics, but Ive never doubted the sincerity and decency of George McGovern. This news saddens me.

Longtime former U.S. Sen. George McGovern, the Democratic presidential candidate who lost to President Richard Nixon in a historic landslide, has moved into hospice care near his home in South Dakota, his family said Monday.

Hes coming to the end of his life, his daughter, Ann McGovern, told The Associated Press. She declined to elaborate but noted that her 90-year-old father has suffered several health problems in the last year.

May he and his family know the comforting grace of our loving God at this difficult yet joyous time.

A Suggestion To Bill Maher

If you really believe this, why dont you do something about it?

HBO Real Time host Bill Maher says hes consistently pro-death and not one of those people who thinks all life is precious.

I am for the death penalty, although I do believe in more DNA testing, Maher continued. My motto is, Lets kill the right people. Im pro-choice. Im for assisted suicide. Im for regular suicide. Im for whatever gets the freeway moving. Thats what Im for.

Its too crowded, Maher continued. So, the planet is too crowded and we need to promote death.

So come on, Bill you know what the problem is, so why dont you take the appropriate act to help alleviate it.

Cut the surplus population by one.

After all, you are clearly one angry, bitter, unhappy man, so your departure from this mortal coil would not merely make the planet less crowded, but would also increase the happiness quotient of the world as a whole.

Just A Couple Questions On Hillary And Benghazi

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made the following statement in an interview yesterday.

"I take responsibility" for what happened on September 11, Clinton said in an interview with CNN's Elise Labott soon after arriving in Lima, Peru, for a visit. The interview, one of a series given to U.S. television networks Monday night, was the first she has given about the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. Clinton insisted President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are not involved in security decisions.

"I want to avoid some kind of political gotcha," she added, noting that it is close to the election. The attack killed Chris Stevens, the U.S. ambassador to Libya, and three other Americans at the consulate. The Obama administration has been heavily criticized after Vice President Joe Biden said during last week's vice presidential debate that the White House did not know of requests to enhance security at Benghazi, contradicting testimony by State Department employees that requests had been made and rejected.

Which leads me to ask some questions.

Secretary Clinton and her statement ought to be a major issue in tonight's debate -- and in next week's foreign policy debate.

If Clinton is responsible, doesn't this threat by the Administration constitute a little "wag the dog" on their part?

Im Tired Of Politically Timed Indictments

No, I dont mean politically motivated indictments that come right before an election. I mean hiding from the voters that a candidate is a crook so as to keep a safe seat in the hands of the party in power.

A federal criminal probe of Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. is focusing on allegations he used campaign funds to decorate his home, according to a report Monday.

Lawyers for Jackson, an Illinois Democrat, also recently asked Justice Department officials to hold off on an indictment until after the Nov. 6 election, The Wall Street Journal said. Prosecutors declined the request, and investigators from the FBI and the U.S. attorneys office in Washington, D.C., are in the final stages of their work.

Now too their credit, this particular request was rejected but we here in Texas have recently seen that happen more than once, with prosecutors indicating that they were concerned about impacting the results of an election What? The people have no right to know that someone is a crook BEFORE we vote for them?

Saudi Arabia Calls For End Of Free Speech -- Makes Case For International Ban On Islam Instead

Islamo-Fascists want to make sure you don't say anything that offends their religion.

Saudi Arabia has called for a new international body to censor the internet, in the wake of the anti-Islam YouTube clip that recently sparked violence in the Middle East.

In a submission to forthcoming international talks on internet governance, the Gulf state said there is a crying need for international collaboration to address freedom of expression which clearly disregards public order.

* * *

The Saudi government has now told the World Telecommunications Policy Forum, a UN body, that the incident was an obvious example of the need for greater international cooperation to restrict content online.

Any reasonable person would know that this film would foment violence and, indeed, many innocent persons have died and been injured with this film as a root cause, the Saudi submission said.

Well, any reasonable person knows that Islam foments violence and, indeed, many innocent persons have died and been injured with Islam as the root cause. It is therefore perfectly reasonable for all expressions of Islam to be banned from the internet -- and, indeed, for the teaching and practice of Islam to be banned in the name of preserving peace around the globe. Especially since Islamic teachings about Jesus are blasphemous in the eyes of believing Christians -- and we can't have anyone engaging in blasphemy, can we?

Kitchen Cabinet Depot

A couple of years back, we were hit badly by Hurricane Ike. Damage was severe -- and among the things that had to be replaced were the dreadful 1970s kitchen cabinets and ugly laminate countertop that were a part of the house when it was first built during the Carter Administration. How I wish we had found someplace like Kitchen Cabinet Depot to purchase cabinets of the sort we really wanted.

Happy Birthday, US Navy!

In honor of the 237th birthday of the US Navy, I'd like to honor the ships my father served on during his career in the US Navy.

USS Arnold J. Isbell -- DD 869

USS Edmonds -- DE 406

USS Cree -- ATF 84

USS Herbert J. Thomas -- DD 833

USS Savannah -- AOR 4

Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!

O Christ! Whose voice the waters heard
And hushed their raging at Thy word,
Who walkedst on the foaming deep,
And calm amidst its rage didst sleep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!

Most Holy Spirit! Who didst brood
Upon the chaos dark and rude,
And bid its angry tumult cease,
And give, for wild confusion, peace;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!

O Trinity of love and power!
Our brethren shield in danger's hour;
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them wheresoe'er they go;
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

Just A Quick Note On Gunshot Through Window Of Obama Campaign Office In Denver

There isn't enough information out here for me to assign blame for this incident in Denver -- but I will say it is a bad thing.

Police say someone fired a shot at an Obama campaign field office in Denver on Friday afternoon.

No one was injured, though people were inside the office when the incident occurred, said Denver police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez.

"It looks like it was one shot that was fired into the structure," she said.

The incident happened about 3 p.m. at the campaign's office on West Ninth Avenue near Acoma Street, Lopez said.

Frankly, what we have here is an incident where there is not enough information available publicly to make a determination of what happened here. I'll defer to the police on this one, as the Obama campaign has appropriately and responsibly done. After all, sometimes such incidents are random, as was the case with a bullet that hit Eric Cantor's campaign office two years ago.

But sadly, such incidents are not unique -- though it is unusual that the incident involved a Democrat campaign office. They are usually targeted at Republicans, as the last two elections have shown.

None of these were considered to be big deals by the national media -- nor were the many acts of vandalism against GOP offices, campaign signs, or vehicles with GOP bumper stickers in 2004, 2006, 2008, or 2010. And I've not included physical assaults, either -- something that rarely happens to Democrat officeholders or volunteers but which are common tactics against Republicans. I just don' have the room to list them.

And besides, such incidents still don't justify shooting the campaign office of a president who has told his supporters to get in the faces of his opponents and to bring a gun to use against them. Chicago-style thuggery isn't acceptable against a Chicago politician, any more than it is coming from the supporters of one at his behest.

Remember When The Underage Children Of Public Officials And Candidates Were Off-Limits?

Well, that apparently only applies to the children of Democrats, as we learned from the treatment of the Palin children in 2008. And if we had forgotten, the regressive "progressives" have reminded us again this year.

Following last night's debate, one New York fashionista (should be fasist-ista" decided to start spouting sexual fantasies about Paul Ryan's daughter on Twitter. Any chance of getting this sicko required to register under Megan's Law?

And then there was the crew of sickos who wished that one or more of Ryan's kids had been aborted.

I wonder -- will the Obama camp have the integrity to call out their supporters for conduct that would be condemned if directed at the Obama girls?

Will the press do so?

Or are the children of conservatives and Republicans once again fair game?

Is Joe Biden Calling Catholic Bishops Liars?

Here's what the deranged Veep said during last night's debate.

With regard to the assault on the Catholic Church, let me make it absolutely clear. No religious institutionCatholic or otherwise, including Catholic social services, Georgetown hospital, Mercy hospital, any hospitalnone has to either refer contraception, none has to pay for contraception, none has to be a vehicle to get contraception in any insurance policy they provide. That is a fact. That is a fact.

Here's the official statement of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops in response to Biden's claim.

This is not a fact. The HHS mandate contains a narrow, four-part exemption for certain religious employers. That exemption was made final in February and does not extend to Catholic social services, Georgetown hospital, Mercy hospital, any hospital, or any other religious charity that offers its services to all, regardless of the faith of those served.

And remember -- it is not just the nation's Catholic bishops who have made the claim that Biden denies. A whole host of religious organizations, including colleges, hospitals, social service agencies and even a Bible publisher have made the same claim, only to have the Obama Administration make it clear that they would be required to supply insurance that covers contraception, sterilization, and abortion. So how dare Biden present himself as some sort of faithful Catholic while repeating this lie?

All of which takes me back to a position that I expressed some months ago, when I suggested an encyclical letter from Pope Benedict XVI regarding the ObamaCare regulations and their attack on religious freedom.

The second part of the encyclical should lay out the consequences of the promulgation of this new regulation and its successor. This should begin with an announcement that Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius is immediately excommunicated, as are any other Catholics within the senior staff of the department. In addition, immediate excommunication should also fall upon any Catholic member of Congress who voted for ObamaCare. Lest there be any confusion on the matter, the individuals excommunicated should be listed by name. In addition, excommunication latae sententia will be incurred by any Catholic who directly enforces or causes to be enforced the requirements of the new regulations. Similar sanctions should be directed at state officials in the 28 state with similar provisions in state law. At least as regards the public officials, the lifting of the excommunication ought to be reserved to the Holy Father himself. The second consequence contained within the encyclical ought to include the imposition of interdict upon the United States if the regulation is not rescinded by a certain date, with the interdict to be lifted only upon the lifting of the regulation and the return of any and all property seized as a consequence of failure to comply with the regulation.

It seems to me that Biden's claim last night and the subsequent response of the bishop's conference makes it appropriate for his bishop, Bishop W. Francis Malooly of the Diocese of Wilmington, to impose excommunication for his material cooperation in the imposition of this mandate and the public scandal he has created by supporting it and lying about it during the debate.

DNC Chair Calls Republicans UnAmerican For Wanting Truth On Libya

Remember dissent was patriotic when it involved accusing the Bush Administration of knowing about 9/11 in advance or siding with the terrorists who killed Americans. But if you seek answers about how a US ambassador was killed in a terrorist attack and why the Obama Administration consistently lied about the events surrounding the Benghazi terrorist attack and you are un-American, according to Barack Obamas hand-picked head of the Democrat National Committee, Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

It is irresponsible and un-American, quite frankly, for my Republican colleagues in Congress to be jumping on this immediately as a political opportunity, said Wasserman Schultz.

Not only that she declared questioning the government to be out of bounds, even in the face of patently false statements that subsequent developments have shown are not only false but were known to be false when they were made.

Piers, it is not OK for you to be saying that the administration was putting out false information, said Wasserman Schultz.

Never mind that the Obama Administration knew within hours that the attack in Benghazi was unrelated to the YouTube video about Muhammad but was instead a terrorist attack but still blamed the video for the attack. Never mind that there was no demonstration in Benghazi, even though the Administration claimed for two weeks that the attack was just a demonstration that got out of hand. Never mind that there was specific intelligence in advance of the attack warning of the attack that was ignored by the Administration as it cut back on security. You have no right to claim that statements that are documentably false and which it is documented were known to be false when they were made were in fact false, much less accuse the Obama Administration of intentional deception and outright lies! So says Obamas personal political commissar.

After all, Obama is a Democrat.

And hes black.

And criticism of him is not just political opportunism it is probably racist, too. Just give Debbie time to start making that claim as well.

Obama Favorite Solyndra Trying To Defraud Taxpayers Again

Seems like a pattern, doesnt it.

The Internal Revenue Service urged a bankruptcy judge to reject solar panel maker Solyndra LLCs bankruptcy plan Wednesday, saying it amounts to little more than an avenue for owners of an empty corporate shell to avoid paying taxes.

The undeniable conclusion is that tax benefits drive this plan, attorneys for the IRS wrote in a bankruptcy pleading.

Arguing that the bankruptcy court ought not confirm a plan whose principal purpose is tax avoidance, attorneys said in filings in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware that the tax breaks would be worth more money than funds set aside for creditors.

Taxpayers are on the hook for more than a half-billion dollars after the company filed for bankruptcy last year, just two years after winning a loan guarantee from the Department of Energy.
