INDIANAPOLIS -- The president of the AFL-CIO is offering to mediate the NFL's labor negotiations. The league has a very basic problem with that: The head of the NFL Players Association sits on the executive council of the AFL-CIO, a labor union federation.
In a letter obtained Thursday by The Associated Press, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka said he could sit down with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith to work on the parameters for a new collective bargaining agreement.
Needless to say, the NFL is turning down that offer from the scummy socialist union thug with a history of tolerating (and advocating) violence to intimidate management and non-union employees. After all, how neutral could Trumka possibly be when one of the parties is a member of his own organization?
In related news, an offer by Iranian spiritual leader Ayatollah Khamenei to mediate the current dispute between Israel and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been rejected by Israel.
