And Just Why Did Rand Paul's Supporters Take Down A Lefty Lunging At His Open Car Window?

Well, maybe it has something to do with preventing a situation like this one.

Rochester, NY Wednesday evening, Jill Rowland, the 28th congressional district candidate, was attending a question and answer round table discussion at the Radisson hotel in downtown Rochester. Dr. Rowland was an invited guest of the Turkish American Business and Development Council. At around 10 PM, a man clad in sunglasses and of questionable attire entered the hotel lobby and headed directly toward the sizeable group. A campaign staff volunteer approached the man and asked him if he needed any help. The man did not respond and appeared to retreat momentarily. He then darted to the opposite side of the group where he promptly positioned himself in a threatening pose directly across from Dr. Rowland and the representative from the Turkish consulate. The Rowland Campaign volunteer, alarmed by the irregular behavior, immediately approached the man once again. The man did not respond or move initially, but upon further prompting by the campaign staffer, the man walked away visibly agitated. The man then raised his hands in a threatening manner toward Dr. Rowland and the businessmen and assumed confrontational stances, so the campaign staffer summoned the hotel security immediately.. The man seemed to be familiar with the hotel and was able to expeditiously exit by way of an unconventional path and was now holding what appeared to be a weapon in his hand.

911 was called and the man was followed up East Main Street to the Hyatt parking lot and was subsequently arrested on South Avenue. After a thorough search of the man,an open utility knife was found hidden on his person.

I somehow suspect that there will be no media coverage of this incident -- no sexy video, and besides, Rowland is a Republican and so violence against her is understandable (even acceptable) in the eyes of the Left-Wing Talking Points Media. After all -- the bullets that hit John McCain's campaign bus in 2008 were pretty well ignored by the media, while unconfirmed comments by mystery attendees at a Palin rally were highlighted.

Now one can -- and I do -- take issue with the exact methodology used in the Kentucky incident, but given that liberals are every bit as likely to engage in acts of political violence (if not more so) than conservatives, I understand the imperative to restrain someone taking an aggressive stance towards a candidate.

After all, do we really want a contemporary version of this photo?

Would to God that these RFK supporters had gotten to that little bastard before he could pull the trigger. And wouldn't you really rather that these men had faced some criticism over a foot on Sirhan's neck or stomping on the little son-of-a-bitch's head if that meant that Bobby Kennedy's assassination would never have taken place?

Great example of Republican cowardice on display here. It's okay to stomp a small woman because RFK got shot. I suppose you have pictures of the weapon that she was using, or is it okay to preemptively stomp anyone you choose?

Gee, Dan, cowardice? The film of the whole incident shows the paid employee of MoveOn.org (and organization that takes money from Holocaust-collaborator George Soros) lunging at the open window of the vehicle trying to get at the candidate. What would happen to anyone who tried that with Barry Hussein Sotero, the current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue? Would you condemn that as a cowardly attempt to suppress dissent, or would you call it good and proper security, even if no weapon was visible?

I haven't seen the whole video of the incident. The media just showed a woman(?) being grabbed then wrestled to the ground. (The head stomping part was stupid).

Being an Ex-AF cop, if someone rushed a vehicle with a VIP, we would have accomplished a similar action. Surround the person, pull them away from the vehicle and wrestle them to the ground if necessary to handcuff or restrict their movement.

I can't say we would have done this against any woman, unless she was overly aggressive. The one part that made it strange...it looked as though she had a wig on to hide her identity. That in itself, would tell you she may of been hiding something else besides her identity.

Cowards and cheap shot bullies. Pathetic.

And those trying to argue in favor of stomping her are truly unhinged. Stop, take a breath, and think about what you're standing for.

The Secret Service agents who protect Barry Hussein Sotero are pathetic cowards and cheap shot bullies? Really, Dan? Then I'm sure you will agree with the proposition that Sotero's security detail should be pulled and he should face precisely the same sort of attention that the paid employee of the Soros-affiliated group was going to give Rand Paul -- right? Oh, yeah, right. I know your response to the mere suggestion of such a thing -- "RAAAAACISM!!!!!!!"

And since your reading comprehension is apparently approaching the third-grade level required of most registered Democrats, let me repeat what I stated in the post -- I take issue with the methods used by those seeking to protect a candidate for federal office from a potential assassin -- but I've got absolutely no problem with their taking action to prevent said potential assassin from lunging through a vehicle window to do the candidate harm.
