It isn't merely that the social networking site has allowed folks to suggest/encourage/threaten the murder of a man who has not even been charged with a crime -- they are allowing actual incitement.

As of March 29, 2012, midnight Eastern time, a vile Twitter account named “@killzimmerman” was still active on the social networking site. It has been active for at least four days, despite numerous complaints from Twitter users. Why has it taken so long to address this glaring violation of Twitter’s terms of service?

The picture associate with the account makes it really clear what the goal is.

A couple of observations.

• Some have called the killing of Trayvon Martin a "lynching" or an "assassination". Isn't this account a specific call for precisely that?
• I did a quick check -- and no accounts exist calling for the murder of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, or Louis Farrakhan. Would such an account with such a graphic be permitted by Twitter?
• What about Twitter's own rules? "Violence and Threats: You may not publish or post direct, specific threats of violence against others."

As I've said -- I want to see justice done for all involved – whether that means George Zimmerman gets the death penalty, is completely exonerated, or something in between. Doesn't this include putting a stop to the true lynch mob mentality that exists in this case?
