Well, what else do you call a convicted bomber who has filed false criminal complaints against those who speak the truth about him, contacted their employers, and driven them from their homes? Sounds like he is trying to instill terror to me, via both warfare and lawfare.

Yeah, Kimberlin was the Speedway Bomber back in the 1970s in Indiana. I remember the case from my high school days. Here's a great summary of his criminal history and his abuse of the legal system to punish those he believes to be his enemies.
As you can see, Brett Kimberlin is quite accurately described as a lying felon -- something adjudicated as fact in various courts of law and which therefore may be deemed to be a fact by one and all.
Over the last several months, a fellow blogger I greatly admire, Aaron Worthing, has been a particular target of Kimberlin's reign of terror, which has cost him and his wife their jobs. I can't even begin to do the story justice, so I encourage you to take the time to read the full sordid story about how Kimberlin has used the courts to harass Aaron and gotten both he and his wife fired by making their employment a security risk for their employer.
And then there is Robert Stacy McCain -- journalist extraordinaire and kin to the 2008 GOP presidential nominee. Threats against him and his family have forced them to flee the state of Maryland for their own safety.
And here's what he and his cronies have done to the blogger at Patterico's Pontifications, a Los Angeles prosecutor.
Unfortunately, Kimberlin is out of prison well before the total time to which he was sentenced on his numerous convictions. He now works running a liberal non-profit -- funded by Barbra Streisand, among others. I wonder -- does she know, or even care, that she is bankrolling a lying felon with a history of violence who is terrorizing those who dare to tell the truth about him?
In the end, though, this isn't about politics. I agree wholeheartedly with Ken from over at Popehat -- "in this country you should have the right to express yourself without a convicted domestic terrorist and his cronies harassing you with frivolous litigation and threats."
A great many bloggers have posted on Kimberlin and his activities in recent days. More will today, Friday May 25, because of a call for folks to stand in solidarity with those who have been the victims of Brett Kimberlin. That's why this post -- because we cannot and must not remain silent when the consequence is allowing a guy who wants to silence the truth to succeed in doing so. If we do, our freedom to speak has been crushed -- and patriotism means we must stand in this place to defend that freedom.
