Offensively Stupid Democrat Rape Comments

What planet do these people – these liberal Democrat WOMEN – live on?

First, we have this gem from a Democrat strategist.

Appearing on Fox News Tuesday night, Democratic Strategist Zerlina Maxwell argued that preventing rape should start by simply “telling men not to rape women.” She was arguing against women using guns as a means of self-defense when she made the questionable remarks.

Host Sean Hannity began by slamming the “ignorant politicians” in Colorado for trying to remove a woman’s right to use a firearm to defend herself against an attacker via gun control legislation.

“I don’t think that we should be telling women anything,” Maxwell said. “I think we should be telling men not to rape women and start the conversation there.”

Somebody ought to tell Ms. Maxwell that we already do tell men not to rape – there are these little things called laws that do that and even impose a penalty for violating said prohibition. That doesn’t stop some vile individuals from doing it anyway – just as some individuals violate the laws against robbery and murder, too. Maxwell’s argument is therefore offensively stupid.

And then there is the stupidly offensive comment from another Democrat, this one an elected official.

A Democratic lawmaker in Colorado is drawing criticism after telling a rape victim that the attack against her would have been worse if she had been carrying a gun at the time. State Sen. Evie Hudak told Amanda Collins “statistics are not on your side even if you had had a gun.” Hudak argued at a hearing Monday that if Collins was carrying a gun, the much larger male attacker could have taken it from her and shot her.

Collins responded by saying, “Respectfully Senator, you weren’t there. Had I been carrying [a concealed weapon], he wouldn’t have known that I had my weapon. I know without a doubt in my mind, at some point I would have been able to stop my attack by using my firearm.”

Collins was raped at gunpoint in a University of Nevada-Reno parking garage in Oct. 2007. Nevada law prohibited her from carrying a gun on the campus, but her attacker had one.

Because, of course, legislators know much better than victims what the circumstances of their attacks are and what the best way for them to deal with their attackers are or would have been. If this were a Republican we'd be hearing the "War on Women" meme.

But then again, this just illustrates a basic truth about liberals, guns, and victims of sexual assault.

Comments on Offensively Stupid Democrat Rape Comments

People like Zerlina Maxwell are NOT truly interested in helping rape survivors.

I can prove it. According to the reasons behind the 2003 Prison Rape Elimination Act, at LEAST 10% of all prisoners have been the victims of rape. And, often it's not a one time event. Sometimes it's even being made into a sexual slave that goes on and on and on.

A little math is required: ~2.5 Million incarated folk in the US. 90%+ are men - so simple #'s tells us that 230K male rape victims per year. And again, that's if they are raped ONCE. It does not calculate the # of INSTANCES.

In other words - there are more instances of rapes of males in any given year than women.

Now "Democratic Strategiests" and feminist leaders who wax poetically about how we need more funding for rape prevention programs seem to not give one good damn about those victims.

How do I know? Let's put the gov't money where the feminist mouth is:

Why doesn't 1/2 the money for victim's advocacy and help go to male prison rape victims?

Why do colleges / universites get a disproportionate amount of money on rape prevention / help versus inner city women?

Since 1990 the per 100,000 rates of sexual assault have DECLINED by ~40%. On the one hand they say that LESS women report it now (huh?), despite all these programs that have educated the public about the reality of rape (I heartily agree with said programs), but on the other hand they want more money (always) for more studies, programs, and advocates.

Again - prison rape has remained steadily at ~10% per convict, but WHERE is the call for studies, funding, and advocacy for those victims? I have even debated feminists whose retort is "But they are MEN being raped by MEN." as though those folk don't matter.

Compare and contrast how feminists are the ones who want FEMALE convicts who have sexual contact (forced or "consensual" (prisoners can't consent - I agree) ) to have their rapists prosecuted.

Also - no matter if the #'s per 100,000 of (ONLY) women getting raped goes up or goes down, they want more funding.

3 Final notes:

First: Those same women, many of whom have sons / brothers / fathers / male friends never seem to give a darn about false allegations. Even with the Duke Lacross false accuser, it was the same choir of voices demanding that a provable false claim not be prosecuted. Oh, and where is Crystal Mangum, the Duke false accuser, currently? She's facing MURDER charges. Because all her life she played the victim card and no one would seriously punish her, nor protect the public by putting her in prison.

2nd: Women like Zerlina Maxwell want to tell "Men Not To Rape". But according to rape advocates most rapists are serial offenders. Meaning what? Meaning that while the #'s of women who are raped may be hotly disputed (reported / not reported, reported vs false allegations etc), no one disputes that any given rapist has probably raped 5-20 women in his life (some say much more). MEANING that the overwhelming majority of men have never committed even one rape.

And browbeating and demonizing the innocent purely due to their genetic predisposition as though they were guilty is not going to stop the guilty perpetrator.

3rd: What with the public becoming more and more aware of how many FEMALE teachers are molesting underage boys ...... where is the Democratic Strategist's / Feminist's hue and cry for "Female Teachers to Stop Molesting Boys"?

Nary a peep.

Answers are purely ideological, does not help ALL victims, and serves to demonize ONLY male perps and does not address female perps at all.

Again: They do not care about rape victims unless it serves their own ideological motives - now THAT's evil.
