California Bus Blockade Harms Supporters Of Immigration Law Enorcement

This looks so bad that it sets supporters of border enforcement back in the eyes of the public.

Protestors carrying signs and U.S. flags blocked three buses carrying undocumented children and families to an immigration processing facility in Southern California.

More than 100 undocumented immigrants were stopped from reaching the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's processing facility in Murrieta.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials turned the caravan around and headed southbound, arriving to the U.S. Border Patrol Station Chula Vista in San Diego County.

Some Murrieta residents have criticized the transfer of the women and children to Riverside County from Texas where conditions have been described as overwhelming and overcrowded due to a recent influx of unaccompanied minors along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Now I understand the frustration that these folks -- and so many other Americans -- feel. We have an administration which is intent on undermining our border security and not enforcing our nation's laws. Indeed, we've seen that this president and his party are actively looking to bypass the laws on the books and the lawmaking process.

But let's consider how this looks to the average American who does not follow border issues intently. A screaming mob forced a bus full of women and children to flee. Our side does not come out of this looking good -- instead we look like exactly what the Left paints us as -- violent racists who brimming with hate. Why? Because a group of folks in California adopted the tactics of the radical Left and played right into their hands by doing so. After all, conservatives get held to a higher standard -- by the Left, by the politicians, and by the media.

Tell me this law-breaking looks does border security supporters any good.

So you are saying they ahould just bend over and take it? Anything that gets this issue into the publics awareness is a good thing. These people have diseases (look up the resurgence of TB in Sacromento schools thanks to illegal aliens) and if they settle in your city your property taxes must go up to pay for their kids education. Then there are literally dozens of hospitals in California that went bankrupt because they are required to treat illegal aliens in their emergency room with no reimbursement. We don't know how many illefal aliens are in this country; 12 million, 20 ,illion, 30 million? And on the day that the federal government actually says that they will give these illegals a legal status every one of them can apply for benefits and for the jobs americans are working in today. Consider also that this latest assault on our border is the tip of the iceberg. Nothing the administration is doing is intended to stop it and in fact they are encoragingit by their actions. Before the end of the year there will be a million or more just walking across the border then 2-5 million next year and at some point we are just overwhelmed and give up. You think this is bad, this harmless 1st amendment expression! Wait until it really gets bad. I'm thinking a civil war will break out as peoples savings and property are expropriated to pay for these illegals welfare and medical. It is going to get worse if the government continues to refuse to do their job.

Having read this blog for years, I don't think that Greg is implying that we should bend over for the illegals.

However, like the protesters, I feel frustrated that illegals (and the drug smugglers that lead them here) are being given a free pass to stay here. Additionally, by standing back and listening when in line at a restaurant (and under the ever-present tv), I hear the frustration of a lot of other working Americans. This frustration spans a number of groups that the Democrats are counting on being pro-illegal and it seems to be reaching a tipping point.

The problem with being more polite and staying home to just watch TV is that politics in this country is totally corrupt and the only way the politicians will pay any attention at all to us is if we make a stink, the bigger the stink the better. We WILL have amnesty and the good people working quietly and earnestly to prevent it will in the end lose as will all Americans. The federal government "secretly" brings in well over a million "refugees" every yearand plunks them down in some unsuspecting community for the local property owners to pay for. Whether it be Somalis, Syrians, Guatemalans or mexicans once they are here they are here to stay. They can and will steal your ID, raise your taxes, make your schools unsafe both because of disease and their penchant tocommit crimes and, probably worse, they will refuse to assimilate becoming "Americans" in name only and then only for the free stuff. Understand that amnesty will not just be amnesty for coming here illegally; it will also be amnesty for crimes they committed while here. If they evaded taxes and owe Uncle Sam a couple thousand in back taxes that will be wiped away with the amnesty bill. If they drove without a license and got tickets includng DUI that willbe wiped away with the amnesty bill. The dream act as it will be implemented is a nightmare. It will cause many millions more to cross our borders and steal from our public coffers. It will get worse, far worse. I would not be suprised if someday down the road you are forced to put some of the illegals in your extra bedroom and feed them. Our country is broke, worse then broke we are $18 trillion in debt and need to borrow money every month just to pay for all the goodies our politicians give away. Who gets the goodies? The illegals get their share. Estimates are that the illegals cost the federal government about $330 billion a year. Who pays for all that free stuff? The tax payer. The same taxpayer who is using their 1st amendment right to protest illegals being bussed into their community. But make no mistake. Protests are insufficient. They are going to do this anyway. Watch the TV and withina few days or weeks you will see riot police break up those protests and break a few citizens heads so that these illegal non-citizens can be accomodated. I suppose the right thing to do is just roll over, get a second job so I can pay the higher taxes and still afford to take care of my family and sit down and shut up. After all the constitution was destroyed years ago if we didn't do anything about it then why wouldthey think we would now?

If you have read anything else that I have written on the immigration issue over the last decade (or even the last week), you will know that I want the border secured and a solution to the immigration problem crafted so that we deal with the lawbreakers.

But let's be honest -- when our side begins looking like the lawless mobs of leftists and adopting their tactics, it hurts our cause. I'm saying that folks need to think before they act.

I don't disagree. However it is legitimate for the people in this town to demonstrate against what is happening. To wake up their local politicians and the national politicians. If they simply used more diplomatic measures there would be a couple thousand illegals settled in their town and their taxes will have to go up to educate them. This issue is time sensitive. There are perhas 12-20 million illegal here today. If the citizens had gotten angry 10-20 years ago and made the politicians secure the border then today we might be looking at half a million illegals. The diplomatic and kinder gentler methods work against us in work for the illegals and our turncoat politicians. If we continue to be diplomatic and carefully avoid being called racist or other names I predict that there will be 50 million illegals here in 10 years. Conversely I also predict that we won't be calling them illegals because as soon as the politicans can sneak it through they will give them all amnesty. I also predict that if we give the illegals amnesty then no amount of secure borders or diplomatic speaches will stop the invasion. Twenty years after amnesty is declared another 50-100 millon new, needy, uneducated, rent seeking illegals will be within our borders and impossible to deport. So which is it? We have a pristine cause with not a hint of lawlessness and lose in a really big way or we stand up to the stab us in the back politicians and maybe turn this around. Time is wasting! Thousands of illegals are crossing the border everyday while we argue over how nice we should be...

We don't need to be blockading buses full of women and children -- we need to be blockading driveways of congressmen and senators so they cannot leave their homes without being confronted with the popular will of the American people on this. Heck -- make the Secret Service have to arrest -- or shoot -- hundreds in order for the Kenyan's son to leave his fenced-in compound. MAKE THEM LISTEN BY MAKING THEIR LIVES A HOUSE ARREST until they agree to do what is right. And if they don't after so agreeing...

|| Posted by Rhymes With Right, July 5, 2014 08:56 PM ||

I agree, sign me up for the blockades of congressmens homes. But it is interesting that you say "We don't need to be blockading buses full of women and children". What you are in effect saying is that whoever planned this invasion sent women and children exactly because our sentiments and political correctness is weak in this area. Should women and children have to obey the law? If these were women and children who robbed the bank should we just let them go, give them amnesty? We are all aware that once these poor little women and children get allowed to stay here that they will send for the men, aunts and uncles garandmothers and grandfatheres, nephews and nieces etc. Each of these illegal immigrants could brng in 20-50 "close" family members. But we should let them get away with it because they are just women and children don'tcha know. That is exactly the problem. We are our own worst enemy. All the bleeding heart liberals on TV are saying "what would Jesus do" or don't you have a heart these are little children and we should take care of them, yadda yadda yadda. So shld we? if a milon women and children come across our border we should just suck it up and take care of them? What about 10 million or 20 million or 50 millon? What if the entire population of the Central American countries come here we should just give our homes and savings and future to them? Where does it end?
Honestly the only right, compassionate, and fair thing to do is to recompatriot these poor women and children as soon as we possibly can. Come on congress, pass a law that everyone coming here illegally must be deported within 24 hours or be charged with a crime.
